Hi we just found out that some of our friends got a make a wish vac at the sametime we are there. We are wondering if it is possible to spend time with them, or do they separate Matt for special things? We would like to do ak and sea world toghether or more if time allows.

Also will they let them drive to the campsite at FW I know that they don't allow more than on vehicle per site but didn't know if there were exceptions.

Any help would be great thank you

Hi! I can't answer all of your questions, but I can tell you that we went to Disney for my dd's wish trip in November. We were given tickets to the parks and basically were able to go whichever days we chose. So I don't see any problems with you spending time together with your friends. The only problem may be with getting on the rides. My dd was given a special pin to wear and we were able to bypass the lines for the rides.

As far as FW campsite, I have no idea, but MAYBE they would make an exception.

Have a great trip!

Thank you for your help. Her 2 boys and ours are the same age and the boys are really excited about being there at the same time. So heres to hoping they don't get separated to much they are really good buddies! I know that it would make thier life a lot easier to be able to drive to the campsite someone said to call the main desk at FW and let them know that he's a wish kid and that would probably work.

Thanks again. are there any pointers that you can offer me for them? Make a wish hasn't told them much other than tell be picked up and the 1st night is orentation. Any help you could offer them would be great.

Ok, I'll give you a quick summary of what happened with us. Well, I'll TRY to make it quick:D ...

Once we arrived at the airport in FL there was someone from GKTW waiting there for us. He took us to get our luggage and showed us to the van that was rented for us for the week, gave us the directions to the village and we were off! Now if they're not renting a van, then someone will bring them to the village.

We got to GKTW and checked in. We were told that there was orientation that night and one adult had to be there. We got basically settled in, walked around, there is so much to see and do right there. ANYWAY orientation was only about an hour and that's where we got tickets to all the parks. We were there 7 days and we got 3 Disney tickets, 1 Sea World, and 1 Universal ticket (but were able to get 2nd Universal ticket just by asking at the front desk). So every day there was a park to visit. They had nothing scheduled for us. We could do whatever we wanted. They have characters come to the village and you could have your kids picture taken with them. They have pool parties and movies and all kinds of things going on at the village, but only if you want to participate. Our time at the parks were our time.
See what I'm getting at?:D

I hope I answered your questions. If you have more, let me know and I'll try to answer them.

Also I just wanted to let you (them) know. As they enter each park, have them get their picture taken. We didn't know this, but found out that at EACH park you get a free 5 x 7 picture. So we have a picture of our family at all 4 Disney parks, 2 Universals and Sea World (Sea World wasn't free, but discounted). What a GREAT souvenier!

Hi,
I just wanted to welcome you and let you know that we have quite a few readers who have been on WISH trips and pop in when they can. Feel free to post something to this message every few days to keep it up near the top.
I had a post all written, but I got disconnected and it was lost :( I think I remembered most of what I wrote.

I see that meeshi posted again with some more help. Here's a ( link to the website for Give Kids the World Village where meeshi's family stayed. Most WISH families do stay there and rave about how wonderful it was.

We haven't been on a WISH trip, but I've read a lot of posts from people who have and we've seen a lot of WISH families at WDW over the years. As meeshi mentioned, the WISH child and his family will have special access to the rides and shows. This would make it hard to actually tour the parks with them, since they will be bypassing lines that you will be waiting in. He and his family may also be using the wheelchair entrances to a number of rides (they allow for a little bit more time and space to load onto the rides) and WISH families are often avoiding lines altogether by going in back entrances, so they can avoid wasting precious energy waiting in lines. I don't know about Sea World, but I imagine it works the same. At the very least, his family would probably be using the wheelchair seating area for shows.

One thing that might help is for both of your families to have 2 way radios. That way you could contact each other and connect up to eat lunch at a counter service restaurant or a snack together. You might also be able to use it to find them in shows like Indiana Jones, parades, the show in front of the castle. You might not be able to sit near them, because they would be in the wheelchair area, but it's worth a try. His family could ask to sit near the edge of the wheelchair seating area so there would be a chance of your family being able to sit/stand in the close area out side the area.

Think about going places where there wouldn't be lines to wait in for the attaraction. Epcot WS might be a good place to tour with them, since there aren't many shows/rides. A lot of kids enjoy going around to the Kidcot Stations (craft stations in each WS country) or getting WS passports stamped and signed by WS foreign CMs. You can buy passports at Epcot or some people have made their own, which might be a good activity for before you go to get ready. Innoventions in Future World also has displays that you walk thru at your own pace, so it would be a good place to tour.

Asking FW about parking sounds like a good idea. You might also want to look into meeting them somewhere else. if they have a car/van, you could go to DD. There is a great Lego store there and a LEGO play area the boys might like. Boardwalk would also be a good place to hang out. There's a ESPN shop and restaurant. BW is within walking distance to Epcot. If they have a car, they could valet park at BW.

A ggod gift for each boy might be a disposable camera so they can take pictures of the attractions and each other to make memory books for afterwards. Hope you have a great time.

Thankyou so much for the info we thought we might try touring and just see what happens( we've got hopper passes so it doesn't really matter). And the DTD is a really good Idea. The disposibale cameras are already ready to go for my oldest along with his own video tape. I hope that we can get into a few shows or a couple rides with them ( I'm not one to take advantage of the system). Any other inputs would be great 3 mos. to go.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

They will have a card to show CMs that indicates they are on a WISH trip and also lists the number of people in their party. They will only be able to bring their party in with them using their card.
You may be able to meet up with them after you get into a show (the 2 way radios) or they may wait in the regular line with you for a ride or 2 if the lines aren't long. That's why I suggested Epcot as a good place. Since there are few lines to wait in, waiting in line with them won't be an issue.
Good luck and hope everyone has fun.

when we have stayed at the cabins they were very thoughtful. They allowed my parents to drop the remaing party at the cabins then the driver parked in the lot with a fw pass.
Give kids the world let my parents stay with us at no charge even though it meant that we needed a second villa. I hope this will help. I would not suggest going to the parks together since during kels's wish we were able to move through the parks quickly and they were not. We met for breakfast and then again for dinner. good luck
;)
