MAK Grand Gathering - Day Two part 2 added w/pics 8-20

I seen you shop, you don't need to practice but if you had seen us play, you would probably insist that we practice more.

You do have a point, I am an excellant shopper. :thumbsup2

I don't know though about y'all needing lots of practice, I've heard your scores and I think y'all do rather well and know your ways around golf courses. But if you take Scott with you, y'all can practice all you want. :upsidedow

We are in Florida! We have stopped for the night in Lake City. There is just something about making the turn onto I-75. We are so close and tomorrow we arrive.

We were able to leave town by 10:42, not bad considering I got a total of two hours sleep this morning. I'm feeling great.:goodvibes Scott was able to get the plumbing problem fixed and then we got packed up and headed out.

We saw a couple interesting things on the way today. First we took a fairly new road, well it's been a road forever, but recently (only took about three years to complete) it has been widened and paved. We didn't think there would be much traffic on the weekends, but there was a fair amount. Interesting thing though on this road, we passed a wagon train, complete with a Sheriff Deputy to escort them. Wish I would have though to take a couple of pictures. Guess I need to be more on top of things with the camera. A couple of the wagons had Captain's chairs like you would see in vans. Not something you see every day in Southern Mississippi that is for sure.

We stopped in Malbis, AL for lunch and met up with the Messers there. Report has it that the Albasinis were through Pensacola about 11:00am. They got to the hotel way before us. We had lunch at Cracker Barrell and then got back on the road. The Messers arrived about 20 minutes before we did at the hotel. After check in, we went to eat dinner at Texas Roadhouse. The ribs are awesome! and the rolls. We ate us some rolls. Now we are all settled in for the night and will breakfast at the hotel before we head on South. Yes, I am tired, so will be getting a bit of sleep tonight.

Pictures will be coming soon. It should be a real interesting week.

Confirmation on the "WAGON TRAIN" it was kind of surreal to be loaded down with all our luggage and pass half a dozen horse drawn wagons on our way to Disney. Even funnier was the Dump Truck stuck behind the horse drawn wagons. As my youngest shouted look mommy a parade (One sheriffs truck with lights flashing, six horse drawn wagons and a dump truck)!

Just say our Thread Mistress Lisa in the hotel lobby, she was up and getting her exercise, probably needed to burn off some of that "ALMOST TO DISNEY" excitement.

As we prepare to make the final run to Disney this morning by youngest DL will be dressed in his "Custom Made" Star Wars inspired outfit. Lisa showed up lasted night bearing gifts of a new shirt, shorts and hat. Way to go LISA all your sewing work is paying off, Luke loves them.

We made it to Disney, had an interesting week and are now all back home. Updates will begin soon.
Here is a brief summary:
Arrived Sunday to learn that Colby doesn't really care if she visits the parks, cause she isn't a "park person". :scared1::eek:
The guys did actually golf 4 times while we were there.
We had dinner at Victoria and Albert's.
Aly rode six new rides (she was finally tall enough). :thumbsup2
Lisa is now an official Disboutiqer.:upsidedow

Stay tuned for all the details.

PS - and as soon as Brad makes me a copy of the cd, we'll have lots of pics to show.

Update: Seems I have taken too long in getting things together to finish this report. I am going to try to ask the MODS for help with being able to post to it again.

Bump to the front.

Funny on the wagon train you saw, where they heading east or west?

We left Lake City and headed south. We arrived to Saratoga Springs at about 1:00. As we got close I was talking to Colby on the phone, telling her which lane to get in and where to turn. They had gotten a bit behind us in the traffic. I forgot they had a GPS. As I would pass icons, I would tell her what she was to see when they were to turn. We were doing fine until we actually got to SSR. We passed the fire station, (love it by the way) and I'm like Colby where is the fire station, she doesn't see fire station. Then she says they are at the gate. I say just tell them you are with the Messers. The lady doesn't understand. "what lady I ask?" there is a male guard at the gate. Female guard lets them through, so I am telling her where to go and turn, but nothing is making since to her. Finally they find us. They had gone through the back gate so had different directions. I asked Colby what about my directions she didn't understand and no, John listened to the GPS instead and it took them to the wrong gate. Gotta love those GPS!

After check in we found the villa and unloaded the trucks. What a lot of stuff we had. Bags, dresses, golf clubs, coolers, adult beverage makers. We had it all, you would have thought we were moving or something. Got settled and headed to lunch at the food court.

Scott and John headed over to Universal to have lunch at Margaritaville. The loved it and got to meet the DJ (insert name here) who was doing a live broadcast.
Brad went to hit a few practice balls.
Elizabeth, Luke, Aly, Joseph, John and Joey all went to DH to see what the Star Wars was all about.
Colby, Sophia and I went shopping. We found the Winn Dixie, thanks Disboards, and as we were walking in, Colby says to me. "I don't care if I get to a park today, I'm not really a park person." :scared1::eek::scared1:

Why are we at Disney World then? I mean, I'm a park person. I'm a Disney Park person. I had my afternoon planned. Aly and I were going to AK for the afternoon, as she isn't really into Star Wars, but she went with Elizabeth cause she didn't want to go to the store. She wanted to be at Disney. HELLO!
I ended up at the store cause Colby didn't want to go by herself, but her DH (John) wanted to take their DS (Joey) to see Star Wars, so he wouldn't be disappointed that Luke got to and he didn't. So, I gave up my afternoon so the boy wouldn't be disappointed. :sad1:

This was a first of many. :sad2:

After we got back from the store and put everything away, my DH and DS showed up from their adventure at Universal and were kind of surprised to see me there. But off we all went to meet the others at HS and then on to play mini golf.
On the bus, Colby called her DH who was on the way back to the villa cause Joey was tired. When we arrived to HS, Elizabeth called to say that they went ahead and left HS and were at the minigolf already. They didn't wait for us as planned. So, not to totally waste our trip over, we went on in.
Scott and John went to ride ToT and Colby, Sophia and I went to the Muppets show. Sophia had never seen the Muppets. Poor deprived child.

Then we made our way to the mini golf at Blizzard Beach. The others were just finishing up their game when we arrived. So they played a second round with us. I didn't play, but took lots of pictures.

IMG_1051.jpg

I am here to tell you, that there are buses that come by the bus stops at Blizzard Beach after it closes. Now you may not be able to go straight back to your resort from there, but you can make your way back. We had a bit of discussion about that and yes, it is possible.

We had a late dinner of pizza at the villa and then called it a night.

So we get up to go to Epcot and of course have to fix breakfast first.
Then get the kiddos out the door to the bus. Kind of like herding cats.
IMG_1056.jpg

First ride of the day was Test Track. Everyone but one loved it. Can you guess which one?
Image006.jpg

We had gotten FP for Soarin, but it wasn't quite time yet. We didn't think it was a good idea for Colby to ride since she get motion sickness, so she bribed Joey to stay with her so she could get Character pictures.

Image022.jpg

Looks thrilled doesn't he?

While waiting for Soarin, we saw the Circle of Life and then stopped by the KidCot booth there.
IMG_1069.jpg

The CMs working that booth finally asked where one and six were. The kids had on shirts that said 1 of 6, 2 of 6,....based on their birth order in the group.

After the KidCot booth we rode Soarin. It was great as usual. Then we stopped for a snack.
IMG_1072.jpg

IMG_1074.jpg

Finally, all 6 together.
IMG_1076-1.jpg

It was time to leave Epcot, I know, we didn't do much.
A little boy wouldn't cooperate.
Image035.jpg

Then he was thirsty.
Image037.jpg

So this is what cropping pictures can do for you.
Image039.jpg

John had ditched us to ride Test Track a couple of times. Joseph wouldn't stay with him.

On the way out, the kids didn't want to leave, so I had the idea to take them on the monorail. The three 6year olds and try to get them in the front. Then Colby decided to take Joey also. Uh, only four can ride up front at a time. So they were going to ride in the car behind us, but she didn't tell Joey that.
We had to wait for the next train, no problem and the kids were thrilled beyond belief. Problem was we could hear Joey crying in the car behind us until all of the doors were shut. The kids thought this was one of the best rides all week. The pilot didn't talk much, but did answer any questions they had.
IMG_1077.jpg

After our monorail ride we went back to the villa for lunch and a nap.

After a nap and dinner we went to Magic Kingdom for a couple rides and to see the evening parade.

Waiting for the bus

IMG_1100.jpg

The comment was made that IASW is a ride everyone hates, but does anyway cause it is tradition. Won't tell you who said that, but I quickly defended it and pointed out that I REALLY like the ride.

After IASW we went to find a place to watch the parade. I had been told that Frontier Land was a good place to watch parades. :sad2: Not so. At least not that night.

After the parade the older kids wanted to ride BTMRR. Sophia has never ridden it, but wanted to ride with the rest of the kids. Her parents tried to talk her out of it. She wanted to try and we offered to take her, but John decided to ride with her. Unfortunately they ended up on one train and us on another. When we came off, John and Sophia was gone and we couldn't find them and they wouldn't answer their cell phones. So, we went to get ice cream.
