Major Questions of Importance, well, not really....

It's important to me anyways! My DH is not a breakfast person, but I love love love my cereal. We're flying in from southern CA, and taking the ME straight to the POFQ. Is there somewhere I can buy like a half gallon of milk on site? And maybe some apples and bananas for my son and I to eat b-fast in the room before we start our day. We just don't want to eat out every morning. We'll have a fridge in room, and I'll have the cereal, bowl, spoons with me already.

I know it will probably be expensive, but it's just milk and fruit. This has to be cheaper than paying out the rear-end for b-fast every morning. So, is there a grocery store accessible from the POFQ??

Okay, here go my other questions...

At Disneyland in Nov. me and DH wear flips flops all day then change into close-toed at night IF we get chilled (which we usually don't). Is this going to work for WDW as well? How is the weather at night the first week of Nov?

Can we expect a lot of rain during this time?

What is Wishes at MK? The firework show?

If I take the boat from POFQ to DD, can I then access all other resorts from DD? We wanted to maybe walk through some other resorts....

Is there a monorail pickup at DD? Because at Disneyland there is, so I was just wondering....

Where is ONE place we HAVE to go for dinner? (remember, we have a two year old, and money is not an issue this trip) We'll be arriving around 7 or 8pm to the POFQ, and I wanted to have an ADR for somewhere that night, just to start our experience off right. Where should it be?

Thanks all for the help. I'll post more questions soon, I'm sure. If you have any Disneyland questions, I'm your girl!

HI!
I'll try to answer as many as I can!
We've never stayed at POFQ but have stayed at ASMusic, Movies, Sports, POP, SSR, and FW. They all have mini stores where you can buy Milk, fruit, cereal, and much more. I don't think POFQ is any different. There are also gas stations on property with everything so you'll get your breakfast, no problem. Pricing is not as bad as you may think either.

Shoes: I always wear my sandles all day everyday even when it gets chilly and we always go in Nov. It won't be too much different than Cali weather.

Last year it only rained one day of our trip. I now have 8 mickey ponchos that I hope last forever!! Find some at the $ store to take with you so you're not buying them at the park like us.

Wishes is awesome and yes it's fireworks at MK but the ones at Epcot are better and Fantasmic at MGM is way cool too. It's hard to miss any of them because they're all so different from each other.

From DTD you can take a boat over to SSR but I don't know where else. Maybe CB and there is no monorail from there just boats & buses.

In my own personal opinion you have to go to the Hoop Dee Doo at FW. It's a really fun dinner show and my 5 DKs love it. They love to clap along, sing along, and eat their weight in ribs & chicken. We have to watch our movies from there all the time and they have a 5, 7, & 9:00 show. The first time we took DD5 she was only 9 mos old and has asked for it every year since. Even my DD17 doesn't want to miss it. Again that's just my opinion and I've seen a ton of people on here talking about BOMA but we haven't been there yet.

Hopefully this will help some. Have fun planning!

Hi We stayed at POFQ recently.
When we went they had bananas and apples and I think oranges in the food court that you could buy.
You can access all of the resorts from DD. There isn't a monorail, just busses. One resort you may want to visit is Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's beautiful and your dd will love the animals.
Wishes is a fantastic fireworks display, complete with flying Tinkerbelle. It's absolutely a must do.
I would count on our Florida weather to be unpredictable. So bring sneakers and flipflops. We usually don't get a lot of rain that time of year, but maybe bring some dollar store ponchos just in case.
I don't know what restaurant to recommend. The first day of vacation, I never eat dinner away from my hotel. So, depending what time you get it in, why not take the boat to DD and eat at the rainforest Cafe. It's really pretty inside and it's close by to your hotel...
Have fun on vacation...

I grew up in So. Cal. and knew DL like the back of my hand after many visits there over many years. All I can say is: BE PREPARED. WDW is HUGE, I was astounded my first visit there. The best thing that happened to me before my trip was a friend who gave me a copy of the UG (Unofficial Guide to WDW). I highly recommend you buy a copy and devour it, you'll be so glad you did. :)

Thanks for the advice. I just bought a used 2007 copy for $9 bucks on Amazon.com! I'm excited to get it in the mail and start "devouring" it.

Any more answers are greatly appreciated....

Bump, only because I would like more people's opinions! Although, every one who already posted was awesome. Thanks guys...

POFQ has a shop that you can buy fruit, milk, salads, yogurt and a lot more.
We went to Disney once the 1st week of Nov. I never wore sandels during the day I always wore my sneakers. It was warm during the day but 1st thing in the morning and around 4 or 5 in the afternoon it got cool. I always ended up putting on my sweatshirt on. It didn't stop the kids from swimming at night though. I remember watching my son swim and then watching the CM that was emptying the trash, he had on a knit hat and gloves! I don't remembering it raining at all.
You can go to DD and then take a bus to the other resorts. There are 3 resorts that are connected by the monorail ..GF, CR and Poly. You could take a bus from POFQ to MK and then hop on the monorail to get to these 3.
Having ADR for that 1st night might be tough. I don't know how long the flight is from CA but I'll bet you'll be tired. With ME you really don't know how long it will take you to get from the airport to POFQ. Then you still need to take a bus from POFQ to DD and take another bus to where ever you're going. Hoop Dee Doo is a great choice and it is close to POFQ but you can't get there directly. Maybe you could go from POFQ to MK and the catch the FW bus from there. It doesn't hurt to make tthe ADR, if you don't make it you don't lose anything. I think my choice for the 1st night would be just to eat in the food court.
Have a great time!

Regarding the breakfast food, it's a good bit cheaper in the 'general store' (I forget the name, but it's where the t-shirts and stuff are, too) than in the food court. They do have milk and fruit and other goodies.

I also agree that an ADR the first night might be tough, even taking the time difference into account. If you do decide to, you may find it worth it to pay for a cab, since the round-trip on Disney transportation from POFQ to another hotel will likely take 60-90 minutes. If you do decide on an ADR, my son really loves Chef Mickey's. We've only been there for breakfast (we like to do brunch there to end our trip), but they have all the major characters and lots of fun interaction. Or what about doing Downtown Disney the first night? My two year old LOVED the boat ride to get there and there are a lot of good restaurants over there.
