Major problem with reservation now waitlisted

Aloha everyone! So we made reservations for our family of 5 in a studio at SSR. There was a communication error, however, and the cast member had wrote we had a 2 year old, not a 5 year old as we actually have. I did not hear that during confirmation. Whether it was my fault or their fault makes no difference. I would never take a chance and try to get a way with lying about her age. Doesn't sit well with me. So I called today and of course there is nothing and we don't have enough points. So now we are on a wait list for a shorter time in a larger studio. This means I have to find another place to stay for a few days and have to sit here and wait to see if the lists come through. I am so nervous I feel sick. We are 56 days out. What are the chances these will come though? And any thoughts on where to stay the first few days IF the wait lists come through. Otherwise I lose my airfare and more...

You should check the website as well as do the waitlist. The waitlists are not always perfect plus of course you're limited to 2 although there are more than 2 places that could accommodate you. How many points are you short? There are also one time use points you can buy from Disney - up to 24 - so if you found a location that worked you could call in and book while buying the points.

If I may ask, where did you waitlist? And would you also consider off site? Otherwise I'd book a back up, room only, thru CRO at someplace like Port Orleans Riverside or AoA but there is one or two other options that will sleep 5 now. You can modify or cancel a room only reservation up until 5 days before arrival so you'd have a guaranteed place but be able to shave off days if necessary.

That is sad. Good luck. Hopefully you waitlisted for one of the larger units like BWV garden view. Not sure which other would be better, VWL or poly. I would avoid the GFV, BWV standard view. I think those are your only choice. Did you crunch the numbers for a 1 bedroom at AK standard view?

Sorry to hear this happened to you. This is one reason I prefer to book online. Takes the human error out of the equation.

Definitely keep checking the website. I have had luck getting days I was on a wait list for this way.

We are wait listed for the larger studios. I did buy points already above what we already had. We still don't have enough to stay the whole time on property. I was thinking about renting points elsewhere. The only issue is everywhere is booked. Honestly, I know it's fire code but its stupid. WE co-sleep with our 5 year old. We would fit. I just need to buy more point. I hate my Disney addiction, lol.

I know you are not "supposed" to, but could you remove someone from the reservation so you only have 4 guests registered? This would not work if you need dining plan.

There seem to be a number of off site guests that book a Fort Wilderness camp site as a more affordable way to get magic bands and advanced FP+....

SSR studios don't sleep five who are at least three or older. That's why your one was put as two. I guess you didn't understand you couldn't have five and the CM thought you were legal in the studio.
