HI guys,

I am in a quandry.

Have booked AKL Concierge 2 BEd suite for thanksgiving night.
Being a complete over organised person I have asked for a suite with the half circle balcony which are on the 5th floor only.
Now have just realised that the concierge lounge is on the 6th fllor so I will have to go up a floor to take advantage of the facilities.
Also not all of the 5th floor is concierge.

What should I do ?? Should I stick with my request of a 5th fllor suite to get the balcony I want or go for the suite on the 6th floor with normal balcony and be on the floor with all the facilities????

BY the way I am only fussing because I am surprising my hubby with this and I want it to be perfect.
Kinda hoping someone can help me with this.
Also are all the 2 bed suites the same and does anyone have any floorplans??

Many thanks

A ridiculously over organiser !!!

Here's a link to my Webshots concierge pictures that includes many pictures of the 2 bedroom suite on the 5th floor, # 5481.
There are no suites on the 6th floor, only concierge deluxe rooms that either face the sunset savannah (I have had one of those rooms and there's pics of that room # 6209) or they face the pool and Uzima savannah in the background.

Now, the closest suites to the lounge is the VP suite, or Royal Kuba and the Pres, the Royal Assante.
Imagine...even Eddie Murphy and Bruce Willis HAD to go a flight up the elevators to get to the lounge!;) :p

Believe me....it's not bad at all!
And the AKL CL is one of the BEST CL's on property!::yes::

Don't change your request. We stayed in a 2 bdrm suite at AKL in November of 02. We requested a suite on the 5th floor because I wanted one of the large balconies. We ended up in a suite on the 3rd floor. My whole family loved it. I suffered from balcony envy for the whole trip though. So, I'd keep the request but just expect that you'll get a suite on one of the other floors. If you get a 5th floor suite, it will be a wonderful surprise. I really hated that I was bummed about not getting the 5th floor. I had just gotten my hopes up and I shouldn't have.

Don't think you have a choice right now but to stay with what you have.... there have been a couple of posts recently from people that have been told there are NO available rooms at WDW over Thanksgiving! That kind of take it our of your hands ;)

Have fun!

we have stayed AKL concierge twice in the past, and NEVER been on the 6th floor. Going up one flight of stairs (or a quick elevator ride) is NOT a big deal...trust me.

actually - I heard the Savannah views on the 5th and lower floors are the best...being closer to the ground/less trees blockign your view.

Just agreeing with everyone! We stayed AKL concierge 5th floor in September and did not mind the one-floor elevator ride to get to the lounge. We used the lounge quite a bit during our stay, so I wouldn't worry about it at all! Have FUN!!!

Another vote here for 5th floor! Quick elevator ride for us and had a wonderful view. Do check out BambiTamby's pics if you haven't. You won't be sorry you stuck with your original decision.

Wow, they have suites on 3rd floor with concierge services? Weird, I didn't know that. I thought concierge was only located on 1/2 the 5th and all the 6th floor unless you did an upgrade at check-in with access to the lounge. Just goes to show, you can learn something new everyday here on these boards! :teeth:
