I am a first time user to a Forum and I am having trouble with my trip reservations I booked my trip with a travel agent for the first time I booked it at POP Century for 8/13-8/19 and I decided to change my dates to 8/13-8/20 my TA said there was no availabilty and today she let me know the availability opened up for that date but it will cost me $965 for the additional night with the dining plan I am afraid she cancelled my original reservation and is charging me for the DP for the whole trip. I am curious if anyone who has added days to their package with free dining has done so with a TA and add days after 6/25 and had no problems like this.

It sounds to me like they have rooms available but not with the free dining. If it's costing you an extra 900+ dollars than it does sound like you are getting charged full price now.

I JUST changed my dates on the free dining plan but it was subject to availability. For any special they only have a certain number of rooms allotted for that special. So wheras rooms may be available ... not so with free dining.

My advice would be to ask her to book you a "room only" reservation for that last night but keep your free dining package as is. A code just came out for a small discount as well.

You may also ask her to check other value resorts to see if they have availability on the package you currently have.

I REALLY hope she didn't cancel your free dining package. I would have a fit if she did! OMG! I'd be so mad!!!!!

Example of why I like to book myself ... or with a Disney specialist.

First, Welcome to the DIS.

Because this is more related to a discount offer I'm going to move this over to the codes/rates board for you.

Secondly, adding another day to the free dining plan will not cost you that much more, and should only be for the cost of the room that last night. It could very well be that the extra night is not available on the free dining offer, and maybe the TA is giving you the pricing for the regular dining plan with the new promotional discount. I just don't know and am offering some posibilities.

Without knowing the specifics it's not possible to know exactly what has happened here, but I can say it is a safe bet that this is NOT the price for jsut adding a night to your free dining package at a value resort.

I suggest contacting your TA as soon as possible to see what the situation is on the reservation and why the rate increased so much.
Best of luck.

Thank you so much for speedy replies I am just so worried that she might have cancelled the free dining package that the hole reason we are going back in Aug my mother-in-law is taking us next week we are staying at the poly and she recommended I post my question she is regular on here researching I talked to Disney personnally and of course because I used a TA they can't help much but they did let me know that since the POP didn't have the availability the TA could add that night and if I wanted the dining for that night it would be 37.99 per adult and 10.99 for my 5yr old and that plus the night of the room is only 197.35 because I already have the park ticket on my package. I have been panicking b/c it was at the end of the business day and I could no longer get anyone on the phone. The worst part is not that I used the TA but this time decided not to go with the INSURANCE, and I used the TA because DVRs had no availability left. I learned my lesson but please pray for me so it all works out for the best.

Many Many Many Many Many Thank Yous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I talked to my TA this morning and she told me that because I am adding the 7th night to my package and the special I have is no longer available I would have to pay for dining for the whole trip I told her that shouldn't be correct so she is going to check again and if need be she will change the resort for availability.

THANK GOD she DIDN'T cancel the FREE Dining Package!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish you the best of luck. It sounds like this particular TA does not know much about Disney or the booking (nothing personal against the TA, but be sure to do your homework if that is the case.) I hope you are able to get this resolved and get that last night added to your package (or at least book a room only stay for that one night if needed.)

If she says no-go, I would leave that reservation alone and get a new one for just the one day if you can.

I just went through this exact same thing! Tell your TA to ask for guest services instead of talking to the regular CM. I spoke with someone at guest services last night and was told that there were plenty of rooms at POP available for changes within the free dining package. So, I called my TA this morning and told her to ask for guest services. And, sure enough, we got our reservation changed from 9/14-9/19 to 8/18-8/23 with no problem!

Thank you everyone that has given me all of this helpful info. What I learned is that not through my TA's communication but through others is that since she booked through a wholesaler F****t I am unable to add a night to my package. If she had booked it directly through disney I would not have had a problem adding the night. My TA is not very good with communication b/c had she told me from the beginning that since the special was over and it was purchased through a wholesaler I am not able to make that change I would have been okay. Instead b/c I was frustrated with her I made several calls to Disney as well as GS and some were helpful some were not and I made several calls to the wholesaler. I have been unsuccessful in adding the night to my trip it sucks but I am still going none the less.

I am going to enjoy myself(24) with my DD5 and my mom(42) especially since I am treating this time and when mom is finished with nursing school she is treating me to my 1st time to Disneyland and she its not the same thats where she grew going but thats okay I still want to expierence it. I still can't complain b/c I am leaving w/ my DH,DD5,DD2 and his mom and dad for the Poly tomorrow(7/18-7/26) I am especially exicted about both trips b/c they are my first trips back or anywhere for that matter since 2004 when I was diagnosed w/ HD lymphoma and have been through chemo & radiation and the High Dose chemo and stem cell/ bone marrow transplant.

Oh my gosh! That was a huge travel agent blunder - it sounds like she cancelled your ressie altogether! That promo isnt running any longer, so if she cancelled your original ressie, you can't get it back. I thought you could shift your departure date or arrival date on an exsiting ressie as long as you keep the same type (package vs room only).

To see if you were entirely cancelled call disney directly and ask. Maybe they can help you out.

callalilly... if you read thru the thread you'll see that the op was able to rescue her ressie from being cancelled and would only have to add the last night w/out free dining...

*whew*

Well, if I were the OP I would mark TA off the list of people to use in the future LOL!

I travel a lot and my theory is that you need TAs who KNOW your travel destination. So for Disney find a Disney person, for Paris France find someone who knows that area. And by knows I mean has traveled there etc. (If all they are going to do is read the brochure, I can do that myself!)

Thanks Carol thats exactly how I feel and exactly why I used a TA so my life would be a little less stressful and so they could do the work to get me the things I want not me do all the work, but I will use a TA again most likely just not a wholesaler through a TA.

Does the package you booked include airfare? If not, you could just book a reservation for that one day yourself, and when you check in, you could ask if you could stay in the same room.

If your airfare does include airfare, can you pay a change fee to extend your return flight by one day, and then still make the separate one day reservation yourself at the hotel?

I would be a little steamed too. I did all the booking for this one and I am thrilled with everything. I hope you can add one extra day.
