It can be played a couple of ways, but basically it is as follows:
The FTW couple pays for the Major Domo to be a part of their FTW event. Prior to their wedding ceremony, the groom has to somehow get the wedding rings away from the Best Man -- without the Best Man knowing about this. (
Note: This can be handled a couple of different ways. Either outright stealing the rings from the Best Man or telling him to give the rings to someone else -- and during the ceremony you still have the Officiant ask the Best Man for the rings.)
During the wedding ceremony, the Officiant asks the Best Man for the wedding rings but the Best Man doesn't have them. A look of sheer panic comes over the Best Man's face.
"YIKES! WHERE ARE THE RINGS?"
After a few moments, the back doors of the Wedding Pavilion magically open to reveal the Major Domo standing there. He begins walking down the aisle towards the bride and groom. He is carrying a pillow and atop it sits a glass slipper that contains the "
missing" wedding rings. The crowd erupts in laughter. It makes for some cute video & photos.
But be warned that it can backfire. If your Best Man is shy and doesn't like being the center of attention, this might not be the best trick to play on him. Think it over carefully and consider his feelings.
By the way, this trick can also be played on the Maid/Matron of Honor. A bit of a role reversal on wedding tradition. If the Maid/Matron of Honor thrives on attention, perhaps this would be a better route to take.
