Major disappointment with June park hours

We always go to WDW the week after Father's Day. I checked out the Disney website and the park hours posted there for our week are very disappointing, especially the MK hours. One of my favorite times at WDW is being at the MK late at night. Most nights we'll be there MK will be closing at 8:00 (it's not even dark then). One night it stays open to 9:30 and one night (Friday night) it even closes at 7:00. What a major disappointment. It looks like they have also cut back the hours at the other parks.

There is still a chance that they will add on to those hours. Last Saturday, for instance, the Magic Kingdom stayed open an extra 30 minutes and the Disney-MGM Studios an extra hour compared to the originally published times. There was also a second Fantasmic. Cross your fingers ;)

The June hours are indeed a major disappointment. I think Disney is making a grave mistake about the ever-dwindling base of guests who remain tenuously loyal to them. The MK hours are an affront, but we'll have a blast anyway.

The 20th of June is an e-night, that might have something to do with the early closure of MK that evening

here are the dates :JUNE 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27

And, how does one find this out? Is it posted at the parks or the hotels? Is there a days notice or just spur of the moment on the spot decision?

I'll be at WDW 6/19 - 6/24 and I'm not happy with the hours either. So, I would really like to know how one finds out whether hours have changed, changed to what, and whether or not more events were scheduled.

Thanks.

Makes you wonder how E-nights used to start at 11:00 and now you have to pay extra just to stay till 10:00:confused:

We are also visiting WDW during the week of June 16th. Spectromagic and Fantasy in the Sky will only be shown on Wed. nite during our visit. I sure hope it doesn't rain. MGM had added 2 late showings of Fantasmic, 6/17 and 6/18, at 10:30. This addition helps a bit with planning.

I have memories of being in MK at 11:00pm but that was during better economic times.

Have a great trip!

76' (Church trip)
82' (Senior trip)
88' (Honeymoon)
93' (1st visit w/DS and both our moms)
98' (1st visit w/DS (8) & DD (2)- POFQ)
03' (June 16 - 21) - Swan... Here we come!

The Times Guides (which are usually published weekly) have all that information. You should be able to get one for each park when you check in, or from any guest relations location. I assume (but I am not 100% sure) that Steve Soares web site also reflects that information if you want to check before you leave. ( http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/ ).

That 7 pm closing on the 20th is really insulting. Let's close early so we can charge everyone $12 to stay later!! Our guests will be so happy!! Yippee!

I wrote on this subjuct last month and I emailed Disney on May 3 and I finally received a call today. I was gone!!! They left a phone number and I will call back tomorrow and see what they say. Can you imagine how crowded it will be on Wed the 18th. It will be a madhouse and it will take away from the magic. It all boils down to getting less for your money and it costs even more now than it did last week. Hey toe fungus, I hope you are right!!! Everybody have fun on your vacation!!!

I hesitate to get anyone's hopes up, but I just heard from a good friend of mine who's working as a CM this summer. She tells me that her works hours don't match up with the hours currently posted for the first couple of weeks in June.

According to her, that's a pretty good indication that they may just extend the hours.

Don't take this as fact, just an interesting bit of information.;)

OH Wolfpackfan, we have good news .. they have changed the hours for the week we both will be there.. take a look !! Michelle
