Major Buggy info

I have been trying to buy the Major Buggy basket that goes underneath the stroller. I got some info yesterday on this item and the stroller itself.

McClaren has shifted production from England to China. This has left them with no product right now to ship. I am talking the strollers and the accessories. They also have decided to ship thru only one US distributor. All stores/outlets will have to go thru them. This adds a "middleman" to the process. The stroller will jump in price to $499 when it is back in stock! $100 increase.

Sorry if this is OT--but one main reason I got my Major Buggy was for WDW. But I find myself using it alot. I am now concerned about it being stolen..... it is worth $500..

Since the Major Buggy is used as a wheelchair and not a stroller you will probably not be parking it in the general stroller parking area but it will be near the ride castmembers. Less likely it will be taken that way. Also you can use a lock to disable it. Just don't lock it to a stationary object only disable it temporarily for use.

Thanks for the info. As lisapooh mentioned, you can get a GAC that will allow you to use your mobility device the same as a wheelchair, so it can go in all the lines and buildings with you, up to boarding.
One way to disable a stroller or wheelchair, but still keep it moveable, is to lock the 2 front or the 2 rear wheelcha together. Because you still have one set of wheels that turn freely, it can be moved by tilting it up so the locked wheels are off the ground. It's not usable though, so it's less likely to get taken. We did that a few times with my DD's wheelchair, but since it was actually in the ride, nobody messed with it and it was a hassle for us to unlock, we stopped.
