Maintenance fees!

The transient tax is not very much. For one week in a 2 bedroom pool view in March 2017 we paid $159.32 for the stay.

Not horrible, but no other DVC charges those fees. I wasn't aware of them until reading this. Thanks!

It's not that DVC adds the tax it's the state of Hawaii.

Anaheim, California also has a Transient Occupancy Tax which is included in the VGC owners dues. For HI, the Transient Occupancy Tax is collected by the resort.

Good to know! I was referring to an actual charge upon stay for additional fees/taxes.

Should we not assume that Disney knew what they were doing when they planned seaside beach resorts regarding possible floods etc?

A few days before landfall, Irma was projected to bulldoze straight over the top of Vero Beach. Then Irma changed course and VB "only" caught some high winds and rain.

How much do you realistically expect Disney could know?
