How are maintenance fees calculated if you opt to pay them in one lump sum? Using a real-world example, when are the maintenance fees for my 220 points at BLT for 2010 going to be due: January, 2010 or January, 2011?? Thank you in advance for your help... :goodvibes

Dues are based on estimated costs for a calendar year and are due at the beginning of the year in January. Thus, your 2010 dues are due in Jan 2010 and the entire amount must be paid then unless you opt for monthly automatic witdrawal from your checking account; if you do that that, you pay in 12 monthly installments. They charge no interest if you choose monthly withdrawal so you pay the same total amount that you would pay if you instead were to choose to pay all at the beginning of the year.

Keep in mind that there is no relationship between your points' use year and the maintenance fees.

Maintenance fees are annual calendar year fees.

Use years are different and are a 12 month period based on a specific month.

Thank you both. I think my mind is getting all confused by the prorated 2009 maintenance fees for BLT (August-December) which I understand are also due in January, 2010 (even though it seems, given that MFs are paid during a calendar year, that they *should* be due in August when BLT opens...)??

Anyone know for sure when the 2009 MFs are due??

Your 2009 dues will be pro-rated starting from the later of: your purchase date, the occupancy date of your unit at BLT and the start of your initial Use Year. You will be billed for the partial-year dues just after the start of the pro-rated period.

Crystal, I called member accounting yesterday and was told that my prorated BLT dues for 2009 would be due, for me, October 15th. I would be sent a reminder sometime in Aug/Sept.

I did not set it up for auto payment. You may just want to call and get them to give you the specific info over the phone. It is the same MS number we call for reservations, just a different option.

We have a February UY, so it sounds like we should plan on paying them in or around late July/early August.

Thank you!

Sandi, you rock, Girlfriend! :thumbsup2 You have a UY of October, right? So, for those of us with UY prior to August, our MFs are probably going to be due August 15th? If I don't receive a reminder in July, I'll make sure and call MS. Thanks again!

No, my UY for BLT is June. The way the CM made it sound, all UY's through Sept. are paying 4 months worth of fees. It sounded like MF's start with September, not August so I doubt anyones will be due until at least September. But, since mine are due by October 15th, I am going to go out on a limb and say yours are probably not due until then as well.
