Mainstreet Uptown Jeweler ??????

Does the shop on Mainstreet (I believe it's Uptown Jewelers) that sells the DIS watches also fix them???
I purchase a great Peter Pan watch from them a few years ago, and it stopped working. I was wondering if I should bring it in?

It's worth a try, but don't expect much. I had a rather expensive watch I'd purchased on site that needed it's battery replaced. It was made with a rather unusual back that most jewelers didn't have the correct tool to open. I took it back where I bought it and they said, "Nope. We don't do anything but sell them."

I was not pleased.

The mainstreet jewery place does not fix watches. They don't even change batteries (mine died the day we left for Disney last time). They will write down the address where you can send it and have it fixed (for a fee of course) but its the same address on the paperwork that came with your watch. I find that once a Disney watch runs out of battery once (about 2 to 2.5 years after purchase) it doesn't run again, no matter who puts in the battery. I've never tried actually mailing it though.

I doubt they would fix it. A couple of years ago, my watch battery died while in WDD and I went on a search to have it replaced (on property, I did not have a car). They will sell you a new battery, but they will not replace it, but who brings watch tools with them on vacation?

Disney is very limited in what they can do. I almost lost my diamond when a prong got snagged and all they could do for me was tell me to go off property. Get it fixed locally.

2) No repair service.


NOTE:
There was one exception.
Mrs Rusty bought a glass sailboat modeled after my own.
It broke some rigging inone of our house moves.
I brought it back, and the glass blower installed some new rigging.
For free ! (I did tip him, though.)

I just bought a watch there last week. I asked if they took links out (all the dept/watch stores I have EVER been to do that for free) and she looked at me like I had three eyes. I thought that removing links and batteries were a basic service at anyplace that sells watches, but apparently not......
