Maingate Lakeside Resort

Anyone ever stayed at Maingate Lakeside resort? Thinking about staying there for just one night before we check in at Pop the next day? Looked ok and it is only about 50 bucks.

stayed in it 4 times - now the first time was in the 70's when it was new and a Sheraton.

now it is old - but my last stay there a year or two - was just fine.

one of the reason this hotel has not done a real rehab is the installation is that horrible stuff asbestos.

I got it on Hotwire for $22 in late October,I obviously didn't expect much but I did 5 trips between October and last week for the marathon so one had to be on the cheap.Amazingly I can't find many negatives about the hotel,maybe that it doesn't have free breakfast which I usually try to get with my rooms,aside from that the room was clean,the A/C was cold and the atmosphere was fine.The hotel has obviously been around since the early days of Disney but for what I paid I was more than happy.

look on expedia - seeing $39 a night for it

stayed a couple times a few years back when it was still Best Western, both times were fine, rooms was clean, housekeeping real nice, pools were clean..yes downside was no breakfast,but we just bought things to eat in room while we got redy to go to park!
Haven't stayed since it turned to Maingate, reviews on Tripadvisor are split, but I would think for one night it would be fine for ya!

I am thinking of doing the exact same thing! I dont want to spend a whole lot on the hotel as this will come out of spending money and its how I got Hubby to agree to one extra night

Found a special for $45/nt at Clarion LBV on travelzoo
