How do you get to ride the fire engine (or other vehicles?) I know my DS would LOVE to ride the fire engine and ring the bell...but I don't recall seeing a place where you board the vehicle. Does it only run certain times of the day?

Thanks.

As far as I know, all the vehicles run on Main Street all day during the day, except for when they are parades on. I am not sure how late they run at night!
At the end of Main Street, in front the the Train Station are stops for the vehicles and it indicates on the sign for which vehicle the stop is for. At the other end of Main Street, in front of the castle, is another set of stops.
Just stand in front of the sign for the vehicle you want at either end of Main Street and you will be able to board the vehicle when it arrives at the stop.
If I recally correctly, the bell for the fire engine is at the back so you would have to sit there but I may not be remembering it right.
Our favorite is the Omnibus, on the top. The view is amazing up there!
This was something we never did until a few trips ago and now it is something I love to do.
The Main Street vehicles are an overlooked attraction, in my opinion.

Thanks! I have been to the park dozens of times, and have never ridden one of those vehicles. Everything changes when you bring your child for the first time -- I am trying to see things through his eyes, and I know that ringing a bell would be one of the highlights.

They have been repaving Main Street in sections for the past several weeks, and the Main Street vehicles have not been running every day (as is usual), so if you are planning a trip around this, you might want to call in advance.

In my experience, if Main Street gets too crowded, they stop running the vehicles, and I don't think any run at night. This very moment they're not running because they're repaving Main Street, so there are too many walls.

Otherwise, you should at least have a couple/few hours in the morning before the vehicles stop running. If you get there at rope drop, I'd do a few rides elsewhere in the park one weekday and then come back to Main Street to go for a ride. But I hate to "waste" those early morning hours on a ride that won't have a really long line!

(I don't know when the fire engine itself runs; I think you might be able to visit it in the fire station, though?)

the vehicles have a spot at each end of main street where you wait and get on. It is first come first serve.

We aren't going until March 9/10, so I think they will be running again by then. Thanks for all of the info!

The horse drawn fire wagon is stationary in the firehouse. But there is a small fire truck that carries guests down and back on Main Street.

When we went at Christmas we rode the fire truck and DS6 did indeed get to ring the bell it was a good trip down Main St...def take the time to do it. We rode when we were headed back to the hotel for a mini rest mid day and I have never seen a big line for any of them even when we were there Christmas week.
