Main street Opera House and Movie Previews

What's up with the movie previews at Main Street Opera House instead of Mr. Lincoln? When I was there I was surprised to see Dumbo previews in the space, but I thought maybe it was just because Lincoln was on refurb anyway so they are using the theater. Now I see they will be previewing Aladdin there too, and of course we now know that The Sunset Showcase Theater where they would usually run these will soon be the new home of Mickey's Philharmagic (a welcome addition for sure!). Is it just me, or am I right to be worried about Mr. Lincoln? Does anyone know if it's maybe just an actual lengthy refurb or is this the plan for the space going forward?

No idea what the long term plan is. But I can say that I have been to the Opera House probably a dozen times this year, and the Dumbo preview had more people in the theater than all but one of the times I went to see Mr. Lincoln. To be fair, Dumbo preview was during Spring Break time, whereas Mr. Lincoln visits so far were January-March, but still if my experience was typical, somebody's gotta be looking at those numbers.

Many people hold the Mr. Lincoln attraction in high regard since it's so closely tied to Walt, so I'd be surprised if it went away entirely. But who knows.

If they are intent on switching it to movie previews, even intermittently throughout the year, I'd prefer that they figure out a way to switch back and forth throughout the day (Maybe Lincoln runs on odd hours, and the preview on even hours, or something) instead of closing Lincoln altogether during preview times.

Yeah, I'm okay if they want to change up the show a bit, but I'd hate to see it go away completely. I do like your idea of switching the hours, but I don't know if they will go for that. The problem is with The Sunset Showcase Theater now permanently hosting Philharmagic and It's Tough to be a Bug also gone (they used to do them there sometimes), they don't really have a place to run them (not that I think they are quite necessary at all). They could use the Tomorrowland Theater, however they would only do that if the theme fits, and they don't make too many that do.

I will not be happy if Lincoln goes away, tbh. I have serious doubts they would do that, but it's worrisome.

I was kind of guessing that they were going to do something like they did with It's Tough to be a Bug. That show went on hiatus when there was a movie preview and then came back when there wasn't a preview to show.

Assuming the Disneyland website is correct, Lincoln is being presented today and the Dumbo preview was slated to end yesterday. So perhaps Lincoln will run from now until the start of the Aladdin preview and then come back after that preview concludes its run.

It's things like this that make me think that someone on Disneyland's social media feeds keeps an eye on the Disboards (and likely other message boards):

I totally agree I love Lincoln, we are going nxt month on the 12th and i'm afraid it will be closed when we go. Use the tommorrowland theater for goodness sakes, I know wit will be a great dissappointment for my mom too. Path of the jedi has no schedule on may 13th so i hope aladdin goes there. Thats on eplac ein the park where u can still see Walt plus it is such a moving show.

They could also do split days. maybe Lincoln til 2 0r 3 and than the preview and vice versa.
