I've got to agree the electrical parade is very special. I hadn't seen it in a while, and watching it a few weeks ago at DCA was a real treat. You should have heard the crowd cheer as the "tribute to America" section went by....

what is the spectromagic like? is it anything comparable to the EP? I heard it was a lot of the same floats. what about the music? the music of the EP basically made the entire parade.

Just to reiterate a previous post...

SpectroMagic is a "next generation" electrical parade.
~It has a completely different set of floats (Spectromen, Magician Mickey, Silly Symphonies, Sleeping Beauty's Garden, Little Mermaid's Ocean, Fantasia, and the Character Cavalcade -pretty much every other character).
~Where the MSEP used only twinkle lights, Spectro uses twinkle lights + fiber-optics + strobes + high-intensity minispots + bubbles + fog.
~The soundtrack for SpectroMagic is a symphonic piece composed especially for the parade, with the themes from the films represented woven in as well.
~SpectroMagic is 'hosted' by Jiminy Cricket.
~The final unit, Character Cavalcade, along with all the characters on/around it, magically changes from white/silver to bright color.

Characters featured in MSEP that are not featured in Spectro:
Caterpillar, Elliot and Pete, Anistasia and Drisella, Blue Fairy, King Leonidas.

Characters featured in Spectro that are not featured in MSEP:
Jazzland Basses (silly symphonies), Magic Harp (mickey and the beanstalk), Genie, Flora, Fauna, Merriweather, Ursula, Sebastian, Ariel, Flounder, King Triton, Pegasus (fantasia), Chernabog, Hippo, Alligator, Ostrich dancers, Dyonices (fantasia), Three Little Pigs, Soldier Cards (alice in wonderland), Tinkerbell, Jiminy Cricket, Mary Poppins, Evil Queen from Snow White.

In my opinion, no. Spectromagic's music is NOTHING like MSEP's, much to my disappointment.
