We are planning a last minute trip to Disneyland at the beginning of May to (of course) see the Electrical Parade for the last time. It is extremely sentimental to my husband and I (he even had an inside reference to it in our wedding vows lol DORKS! Haha). We will be arriving on a Sunday afternoon in Anaheim and leaving Wednesday morning. We plan to be at the park Sunday night, Monday, and Tuesday. We have been to DL only once before about 2 years ago but are seasoned WDWers , and this time we will be bringing our 1 year old. (We did bring him to WDw about a month ago and he was wonderful it was so much fun!) Any advice or tips on the crowd for the parade ? I'm also excited about the Electrical Parade merch and themed snacks! Thanks in advance!

Advice for lower crowds would be to go to the later parade if they are doing it twice on any of the nights you are there. We saw it again at WDW last year and thought it was seriously dated (but I guess that's the nostalgic appeal of it). ;)

We just went down last week for a 1 day trip JUST to see the parade. We did the reserved dining at Blue Bayou. We had 5pm reservations, checked in about 15 minutes early and were seated at 5:00 exactly. We got tickets for the first parade (at 6:45) and walked into the reserved viewing area at 6:25 and got curb-side spot (so we sat on the curb). Then we rode a few rides and at 8:30 we got curbside viewing again just outside the restrooms by Alice in Wonderland for the 8:45 parade. This was for a Tuesday where the park closed at 9pm.

As we walked up Main Street just after 6pm to get to our reserved viewing area, there were several spots along main street we could have gotten under the rope to watch. We would have been in the back of the area, but still would have had a view.

I do agree it was dated. During both parades we viewed there were lights out on floats and characters/dancers. More than once we saw dancers/characters going up to the cast members managing the parade route to re-set their lights. But it is a classic and the music brings back memories so the (one-day!) trip was totally worth it for us (it was just my mom, myself and my 2 adult brothers).

Lol , you're right that's definitely part of the appeal, don't worry we have seen it many times! It's just so fun, thanks for the advice!
