Main Street Electric Light Parade

So how many of you guys miss the main street electric light parade, and think the spectromagic is horrible!!!

does any1 know when mian street electric light parade will be back!??!!?

I can so hear the announcer right now...Main Street's Electrical Parade...in that robotic voice. I LOVED that thing. It was one of the best parts of DL every time we went.

My brother is seven years younger than me and he had one of those Disney CD's with all of the different Disney music and that was on one of them. I remember thinking I was too old for it at the time....but I would love to hear it again! Brings back good memories.

They have it at DCA!! We saw it in July and I almost cried! LOL I loved that parade...it was my first Disney parade ever and it's special. My girls loved it too, they thought it was so neat. They are already asking if we can see it when are there in 2 weeks.

This year was our first time there and I did not realize there was anything before Spectromagic. We were captivated by it! What was the other show/parade like? Was it at night as well? I am sorry that you miss it, did you get video while you were there (to at least be able to watch it that way)? Did you write or at least email WDW and let them know your feelings? I don't know if it would help, but it sure couldn't hurt! Disney should always give their visitors "a listen" because without us, they couldn't exist! We were mesmerized by nearly everything we saw this year, from parades to rides, to the landscape, fireworks, characters, and so on... it was truly magical!

I saw it as a child and loved it. I wish they would bring it back. My dad has the slide from that trip and I love to look at them to bring back my disney trip.

I think it's a nostalgia thing for those of us who have been visiting Disney parks since childhood, because yes, I miss it terribly. A big, big part of the magic, for me, was the knowledge that I would see the Electrical parade every visit (grew up in SoCal and we went to DL at least once a year).

By today's standards, it's low tech and old fashioned, and those without memories of it probably wouldn't get what we are all misty-eyed about LOL!

PS: I am glad they brought it back to a park. I live closer to WDW now and probably won't head back West for some time, so probably won't get to see it....unless, hmm...maybe a DL/DCA vacation just for old times sake?

Sorry, it's been shipped to Disney's California Adventure. I saw it last year when I visited Disneyland. It's longer than I remembered, even had Dumbo as a character in the parade. I really miss the music and everyone clapping to the beat.

One of my all time favorites! I swear when I read the line that Camno's mama wrote about the annoucer I could hear it in my head and I got the chills and a lump in my throat!

We went to a wedding once and they annouced the bride and groom to that song and I was almost in tears but not because of the newly married couple...I just LOVE that parade and music!

Although I think Spectromagic is okay, I LOVE Main St. Elec. parade. There is nothing like that music. I have it on cd too -- it is my most-listened-to selection.

If you've never seen this parade, you must.

I grew up with the Electrical Parade. We saw Spectromagic for the first time this year and it just did not even compare the the Main Street Electrical Parade. The music the colors I miss it a lot! My sister got married at Grand Californian and the wedding party walked into the reception to the music to it. It was great!

I saw that parade in Ca on our honeymoon and then at DW for our 10th anniv. I miss it. We have a couple of pieces in miniature in our curio cabinet in the family room.

Well the main street electric light parade was kind of like that parade. It was at night, and was lit up like that, but the spectromagic is kind of freaky looking. Like it has those weird characters in it. The old parade just had better music and i dont know it was just so much better! I did ask around at disney about why the parade was gone, and i heared it's going around all the disney worlds around the world. Like right now i hear it's been in Disney Land a couple years. I just can't wait until its back!!

When I was in high school, I was a pom pon girl, and our band got to march at the beginning of the parade right before Easter one year. It was so cool, to be back in the "backstage" area, seeing all the floats line up and all. I will never forget that!

wow its been so long i just realized its electriacal parade not electric light. haha.. well anyways.. go to youtube.com and youll find videos of it. be sure to look for walt disney worlds, not disney land. i found one from 1990. but i cant put links in here for some reason?

I do... I was able to see in one year in FL and than a few months later in CA.

I really, really miss it. We went to WDW in June and that is thing I wanted to see the most. I had NO idea the parade had changed to Spectromagic. It's not the same at all Some things need to stay the same and the Electrical parade is one of them!!!

I get teary eyed and chills when I think about that parade. it was the best!!!

To the Powers That Be, I beg you, please bring back the Electrical parade
