When I was there in sept, they had removed the benches in there, which was a great addition to have a place to rest and watch the cartoons, Are they back? and if not why did they take them out, I know this is not a popular attraction but the benches added something they needed for years,

I don't know, but it might have been to prevent kids/teens from hanging out in there. I once went in there and there were a bunch of kids camped out, laying on the floor, their wet clothes draped over the rails in the center. All they were missing was a pot of hobo chilli hanging over a campfire! We made up a story about the "Vagabond Children of Main Street, USA" as we could only assume they were running some kind of Oliver Twist style pickpocket ring. 🤣

Seriously, sometimes the "Disneyland People" have a tendency to think they own the place. The benches may have been removed to deter loitering. I think they ahd converted it into a shop briefly too and they may have just never put them back.

I believe they were removed when the parks re-opened and the COViD restrictions were in place and were never put back in.

Yes, this is one reason the benches were removed. And some guests were using the cinema as a place for their younger kids to run wild. Hard to watch the cartoons with kids running into people and screeching. Also because people were sleeping on the benches, surrounded by all their shopping bags. Hard to enjoy the cartoons with people SNORING in the background. Then there was the strange and unsuccessful attempt to turn the cinema into a shop, so the benches had to go to make room for merchandise. Disney needs to give the poor cinema some love.

Didn't realize they'd ever had benches. They never had them before when I've been to the parks. I am assuming they don't want the place filled up with people just sitting there for ages cramping the space. When did they put in benches?

they put them in i think around 2018 and it wasnt like that at all, the times i went in there, I would help my mom out of her wheelchair and let her sit onthe bench, most people would sit through a couple of cartoons and then leave. In sept people were lying on the floor which makes it worse and hardr to manuver around, it was nice,

They were there in February 2022 and then not in October 2022, and I was told they had been removed and at reopening and were never thought. Made me think I was losing my mind a little bit.
