Main Street Barber Shop - reservations?

Saw a while ago some people talking about reservations at ther barbershop? Was I dreaming that or are they taking reservations now? TIA.

They do not accept reservations. It is first come first serve. When we went in June, the line in the morning was out the door at RD. We waited until 2pm and there was only a ten minute wait.

Yes, reservations now. I read it in a Disney newsletter I get once a month. Though I forget which one as I receive 2 or 3.

Yes, they are accepting reservations. I have a 9:00 am appointment for my sons first haircut on August 4th. When I called to reserve, I was transferred 4 times until I finally found someone who knew what I was talking about. They all said they do NOT take reservations, but thankfully the last person I talked to said "yes, here it is" ! You call the number you would call for dining reservations. Good luck!

Just be persistant. The second guy I talked to tried to tell me there isn't even a barbershop in Magic Kingdom. He got out his map and I got out mine. I talked him through where it is located. He asked me when was the last time I was in the MK. I told him November 2009 and assured him it was indeed there then and is now. I was transferred to someone else because he couldn't find it. I was transferred to disney dining and told the woman my story and to just please put it in her computer and she found it. They do take a credit card to hold it, will be charged $10.00 for no show and gave me a confirmation number. Even said I can get in 10-15 min early because they'll want me there at that time. We'll see!

Thanks for the info. It doesn't seem like Disney doesn't inform their telephone people, though you would think they should be one of the first to know! We'll just keep trying, since we loved it so much last time and wouldn't want to miss it.

first Haircut only.

Anyway, some days they have had as many as four reservations, and some days none. So it is still 90+% walk-in.

So appointments are not necessary.

What is it like to get your hair cut at MK?

FWIW, I just called yesterday (WDW PLAY) and reserved haircuts for each of my 3 children (no first haircuts). I really only wanted the style/hair gel, but the CM I talked to said you can only reserve haircuts. The reservations are at 30 minute intervals, so with 3 children I had to reserve two different times ( 10 am and 10:30 am ). So, yes, you can reserve haircuts, but I don't think many people know about it yet.

What is it like to get your hair cut at MK?

I stopped in in February because I was *long* overdue for a cut, and just hadn't had time leading up to my vacation. As odd as it sounds, getting a trim at Harmony was the first thing I did in any of the theme parks on that trip.

They did a great job, and the price was pretty reasonable---about what I pay my barber here at home, plus or minus.

I'm so glad I saw this! I just got a reservation for our daughter's first haircut. She will be 14 months old. I have BBB appts for my older dds (7 & 5) and was looking for something for my youngest. Nice to know that they do take reservations if you want one, for the first haircut at least.

This is our first trip too! I'm so excited!

My TA called the dining # first with no luck, then asked with special events and someone finally knew what she was asking about.

I reserved this for 9:30am for sparkles/hairstyle too. I have seen the wait at 2 hours before and I have no desire to wait if I don't have to.

I reserved using the 1-407-WDW-Style at the same time I made my BBB ressies. The CM knew right away what I was talking about and asked me if it was a haircut or a hairpaint and sparkle and noted it on my ressie. She did tell me to try and arrive 15 minutes early as they do take the appts. before the walk ins if they are there, so I can probably get in early right after the 9am ressies people are done.

For those that are trying to get reservations, I just spent about 30 minutes on the phone with WDW DINE and the CM said that it was his first call on the subject ever.

He asked me to hold on while he researched. He found a section that said they do take reservations and started the process, but then as he was going through it, he found another section that said they do NOT take reservations for it. So, then he had to figure out what that was all about.

I just wanted to let you know that there is some conflicting information that the CMs have, but they are able to book it through the dining number. I felt really bad for the CM because he was trying and kept getting conflicting info.

We finally got it booked for 9am on 9/21 for a baby's first haircut. I can't wait!!!
