Mailing stuff to your resort

We're trying to pack as light as possible since we're flying, so I'm thinking about mailing a box of stuff to our resort: mostly diapers, wipes and snacks, maybe some extra clothes. It would all be stuff that wouldn't be the end of the world if it got lost - though I trust the mail more than I trust airlines with luggage! I even considered ordering from Amazon and having it shipped directly there (POP).

Has anyone done this, and if so, was it easy to get once you checked in?

I've sent things down our last two trips. No problem with things arriving (just leave yourself plenty of time). One thing I found out is that if you send packages by USPS, the packages are at the resort and there is no charge for them to be brought to the room, other than a tip for bell services (or you can carry it up yourself for free). Second time I used UPS, and the packages were kept at the BC convention center (was staying at BCV). I had the option of either going there myself to pick it up, or pay a $5 delivery charge to have it brought to the room. When I questioned this, was told it was because I used UPS. Needless to say, I will be using the USPS from now on.

We've used FedX many, many times, with no problem. You can even track your package online to see when it arrived. A hint - use a distinguishable box for easy retrieval. I used a lime green one once, and have put a band of red duct tape around them before. The baggage handlers at your resort will find it in a snap once you request it upon check-in, if you mention the tape or color.

We pack lots of snacks, breakfast food, baby food and formula, diapers, wipes, rain ponchos, soap packets, etc that isn't coming back with us.
