I would like to hear from anyone who has sent ahead a package to the Contemporary for their arrival with snacks, etc inside. What kinds of things did you send? Also is there any problem with them holding it if it comes 1or 2 days before you arrive? How did you mail it (UPS,etc) and also how did you pack it,did you use the bubble wrap or the popcorn shaped things,or what? Also does anyone know if the Contemporary has a ref. to hold our cold things if we check in before our room is if you make the shopping stop?I ususally do not get anything cold because of no knowing for sure and for lack of space in the towncar for a cooler and ice.

In the past I had reason to send items ahead, or someone send me items which got to the hotel ahead of time. Since it is to a business, you should figure three work days by UPS.

Last week I went to New York City. On Wednesday July 7 I took two fair-size (1.5 cu ft) boxes to the UPS Store. They arrived at my hotel on Monday, July 12; I arrived on the 14th.

I made giant size labels (11x8.5 landscape) in 28 point type similar to the following:

Mickey's Friend
Contemporary Resort Hotel
4600 North World Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32820

Hold For Guest Arrival
July 14, 2004

I put one label on top and one on each side; this way there was no possibility they could mess up. I then tracked the packages and prior to leaving home printed to detailed tracking information about each box so I had it with me when I got to the hotel, but there was no problem.

Hope this information helps.

In Jan I shipped a package to myself at the Poly. I sent diapers, wipes, disposable sippy cups, toys for the plane ride home, a few snacks and even a few extra clothes. I used USPS Priority Mail with tracking (an extra 85 cents) and saw that it arrived in 2 or 3 days. I also put some packing tape in the box and mail a box of dirty summer clothes home to myself so I had room in the suitcase for what we bought.

Lovesdumbo - where did you mail the package back home from?? I was thinking about doing this but didn't want to have to go out of my way to the Post Office........

I was staying concierge and they mailed it UPS for me. I'm pretty sure that if I wasn't concierge I could have brought it to the front desk. I paid between $10 and $15 to get it home-just about exactly what I had paid to send it down.

I definately plan on doing it again. With 3 kids (5, 3 1/2, 1 1/2) we've got to pack light. It was well worth the $20-$30 for the convenience of less stuff to drag along.
