well, the hard work is done and over with and today, i got to mail my petition to Disney in hopes of succeeding our plea for more boy character meals. though more than likely, i will get the same response others have received in the past, but one can only hope that things will turn around for the better and things will look in my directions. so, let's all hope and pray that the petition goes through. thank you all for spreading the word and signing the petition. this means a lot to me that you guys took part in this, what could be, history in the making. thank you all so very much for all of your help.

Thanks for taking the time to set it up!

Tinkerbela, I'm sorry I missed your petition:( I would have loved to have signed it! I am in total agreement. Why don't they do boys meals?????

maybe you will have some luck, how do you know others have petitioned also? I just read in a business mag that Disney is trying to increase their boys market. One way is with the Incredibles, they want the incredibles to be like Toy Story and next year they have the movie "Cars" coming out.

Please let me know where I can send a letter.

I signed the petition in honor of my 5yr old DS. Good Luck to you!!!!! :bounce:

Yeah, my 20 year old twins just brought up the subject when we were in Disney last week. Why can't they have a character meal with Peter Pan, Woody, Buzz, etc. at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in WL? I think that would go over really well.

Not to burst you bubble, but doesn't Disney just send such petitions back saying they can't accept unsolicited ideas?

All the best with your effort, but I fear you will be disappointed. Their legal department is known for rejecting unsolicited suggestions and informing you that if they ever implement your idea, it wasn't your idea. This protects them from someone saying "Hey, I sent in an idea for a haunted hotel with a broken elevator" and trying to collect megabucks for the concept. Sad, but I understand the need to protect the company.

I always thought that a Disney Villians character meal would be fun, of course throwing in a hero or too for the very young. pirate:

Didn't they have a villians CM at 1900 PF a few years ago? I thought they cancelled it due to the characters scaring the children?

yes they did, and it was great!! I have pictures of the "villain's dinner" at the Grand Floridian, on my web site. It's on the "May 2001 WDW" trip pages, look for the "restaurants" pages. We only saw a couple of very young children who looked a little scared but I think it was more due to them being of scared of characters in general, not because they were "villains". At all of the character meals that we went to we saw kids who were afraid of the characters, and the characters were sensitive to this and would keep their distance. The Villain's dinner wasn't presented in a scary way at all. Even Capt Hook has a big smile on his face. lol It was one of our favorite character meals :) I really would love to see them bring back a Villain's meal!!

I also wish you good luck, I got to take part in the petition. BUT, like Micca mentioned, be prepared for an attorney to contact you and tell you that you cannot share any input, blaa, blaa, blaa (which is a big joke to me???!!)

I got an email from their legal dept several months ago when I sent an email concerning a breakfast which I thought was overpriced for it's poor quality food, etc. I suggested having the option of a continental breakfast option, that's all!!

I get back this whole jargon about how it's illegal to solicit information and all this ridiculous nonsense! I basically answered by asking if they take any input from their "guests" or "customers" thus the surveys we have all notibly taken at one time or another at the parks should take care of that, I think not!

But, it can't hurt to try. Maybe a "bigwig" will get wind of it and you might see it happen! :earboy2:
