Do you have to walk to yours - or is it attached to your house?

In my old house, it was attached..

At DD's, there are 4 of them at the end of her driveway..

Here at the lake I have to walk down to the main road..

My mail comes through a slot in my door. I LOVE IT! All i have to do is walk down the stairs and bend over.

:lmao: :lmao:

***DISing is becoming an addiction for me, and I now have to FORCE myself to turn off my laptop and speed clean my house before my kids get home.***

I have a SERIOUS PROBLEM..where do I go for help???:confused3 :rolleyes1

Don't have one. :)

At my old house it was attached to the house. Where I live now you can't have them attached to the house, and since you can't see the road (and thus the mailboxes) from the house it is just vandalism and mail theft begging to happen. Just about everyone out here uses the post office. Which is five miles away, so nope I don't walk.

We don't have mail delivery at our house. We have a PO Box.

Denae

We have to walk up the street to ours. One of those multi box things. When we first moved into this house we kept forgetting to get the mail (I guess out of sight out of mind) and our mailbox would get so full the mail lady would put in in a bag and leave it on our front door knob.

My mom drives over every day, but if I want to walk its about a mile and a half. We have cluster boxes near the entrance to the development.

Mine is in the front yard right along the sidewalk. X number of feet from the street and X number of feet tall as dictated by the Postal Service.

I am so glad we don't have those "community" boxes!

All mailboxes on my road have to be on one side of the road (which, of course, is on the opposite side as my house.) So I have to walk across the street to pick it up. It's no big deal in the summer but sometimes in the winter, if we have a lot of snow, it's a pain to have to cross a busy street and then have nowhere to stand when I get over there due to the snowbanks.

our mailbox used tobe attached to the front of the house, but I replaced it with a nice rural mailbox on a post next to the front walkway/sidewalk. I love getting mail!

The situation at DD's doesn't bother me too much, but I hate having to walk all the way down to the main road here - especially when it's raining..

I once had one that was set up so the mail came right into the house. It was a much better system than walking to the curb. Well, for the people. Probably not better for the mailman. I miss that.

Our mailbox is at the end of our driveway.

OT- C.Ann, what ever happened with that big mean dog that lived near you? I hope the owners have him penned properly.

Our first home was on a walking route and the mail slot went into our garage. It was great for the mail and the paper - and we didn't have to cancel when we went on vacation.

Our current home has the mailboxes grouped every 5 houses or so. No big deal to walk over, but I do admit to stopping while I'm still in the car if it's raining hard!

Our mailbox is next to the street, in front of our house.

Last Christmas DH bought me a mail sensor that goes off in the house when the mail has arrived. One other upside to that is knowing that the fairly new renters across the street have backed up into our mailbox 3 times so far. We're going to have to replace the box & post soon because of it.

I'm thinking concrete post next time. :rotfl:

Walk to it. It's out in front of the house right at the road. Mailman drives up to it to place mail in it.

Mine is at the end of my drive way. So, a short walk. The house I grew up in, it was attatched to the house, but not the kind that the mail man can actually shoot the mail right thru to your floor!
