I have never done a maiden voyage, but for those that have who weren't platinum, can you share your experiences? Were u able to try the new restaurants or get a palo reservation? Did you feel excluded that you weren't able to do stuff because of not being high enough status?

We're you able to get the merchandise swag as well?

For the gifts that were left for stateroom is it enough for each member in your party or just an item per stateroom? Im curious to learn what items were given on maiden voyage?

Also if a maiden voyage which is 5 nights was a little bit more than 4 nights concierge would u do maiden voyage or concierge?

Thanks

The maiden voyage of the Wish sold out entirely to Platinum guests, and I would expect the next two ships will follow suit. So it is a bit of a moot question, as there won’t be any non-platinum guests onboard.

But yeah, if anyone is foolish enough to cancel the maiden (deposit is nonrefundable and nontransferable) and a non-platinum booked it, I would expect them to be completely shut out of onboard activities and booking.

You would still get the swag though.

There will be many platinums onboard the MV that will get shut out of Palo, Enchante and Drink Tastings. Everything is relative. There are only so many spots for reservations no matter what level CC you are.

As far as gifts received....on the MV of the Magic every guest got an inaugural framed litho and a book on how they made the Disney Magic. I really don't remember anything else.

For the Dream MV we received a book on the making of the Dream and I believe a litho of some kind. Can't really remember. I don't remember that we got a a lot of stuff. The poster was one per cabin, just like the CC return cruiser gifts. One per stateroom.

The people buying merchandise was crazy. People were camped out outside the shops and stormed in when they opened grabbing inaugural merchandise.

I hear for the Fantasy they limited what people could buy and certain limited edition items could be pre purchased and picked up onboard.

On the Dream maiden we got commemorative champagne flutes, a replica keel coin, a Ducky Williams litho, a book & DVD on the making of the Dream and a maiden voyage menu from each restaurant. The shopping for maiden voyage shirts, hats, etc. was total insanity. We had early dining so we got to the shops about an hour after they opened - things were insane - checkout lines with people holding arm loads of stuff, nothing left on the shelves & crew members almost in tears from being screamed at by crazed passengers.
On the Fantasy maiden we got the champagne flutes (waiting in the cabin), the keel coin, the Ducky Williams litho and the menu from each restaurant. Maiden voyage shirts and hats were preordered and waiting in the cabin. Other limited merchandise was pre “wish listed” and you found out if you got it after boarding. Shopping in the stores had strict limits (like 2 hats or 2 shirts etc.).

See, totally forgot about the keel coin and menus! Many people didn't realize the champagne flutes were theirs to take. They were all filled and sitting on a table on Deck 11. You were handed one but many people drank it and then left their flute on deck.

Everyone also got one of those Mickey hands to wave around at sailaway.

So apparently if you add the disney protection plan when you paid your deposit, there is protection of cancel for any reason. If that happens, you can get 75% as future cruse credit on your deposit so you are not 100% losing the deposit on the maiden voyage.

I heard there were special event or parties on the maiden voyage? Were they open to everyone or also based on castaway status?

Were those swag only 1 per stateroom or did everyone get to receive the same gifts?

Thanks for your input. I decided to keep the maiden voyage and drop the 4 night concierge. I figured there's no guarantee that i will get maiden voyage on the other newer ships. Plus i get one more night than on the 4 night to spend on the ship. Maybe i will get concierge when the fall/winter dates get released so i could celebrate my bday or wait when it has a longer itinerary.

DCL just came out with a Wish sweepstakes. From now until March they are giving away cruises on the Wish. The promotion is called Year of Wishes sweepstakes.

Winners MUST be able to sail June 5-8, 2022 with a one night stay at WDW on the 4th which confirms there will be a cruise before the MV which was suspected/expected. So contest winners actually will cruise before MV guests.

The Year of Wishes Sweepstakes

5. PRIZES, APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (“ARV”), AND ODDS OF WINNING: A. Prizes (50 prizes are available to be won; a maximum of five (5) per Entry Period): Each prize is a three (3)-night Disney Cruise Line cruise vacation to the Bahamas for four (4) persons to be taken aboard the Disney Wish cruise ship with a tentative set-sail date on or about June 5, 2022 and includes one (1) 1-night stay at the Walt Disney World® Resort on June 4, 2022 prior to the cruise. The vacation shall consist of the following:

There are concierge spots open sometimes so you should keep checking if you are still interested in the Fall!

I am still praying that a Maiden Voyage spot opens up sadly :(
