Magicbands for offsite?

we are surprising DS10 with this trip for Christmas. Thinking about getting magicband to wrap up for him. We are not staying onsite. How does that work with magicbands?

We have Magic Tickets from Disney, but don't have an actual ticket yet ( just the barcode online). If I buy a magicband from the Disney store, where do we link them?

Everything - tickets and MagicBands -gets linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account.

The MagicBands will then provide the link to the ticket data in MDE when you use the MBs to enter parks. Your MBs provide the link to your booked FPs when you enter a FP line.
