MagicBands at DL?

Hi, I’m a WDW regular headed to DL in two weeks, and I have a few MagicBand questions. First, are they even used at the DL parks? Will the MB I already own and use at WDW work at DL? Any tips on how I can link my DL ticket to my MB?

TIA!

Not yet. They had said we were getting them sometime in 2022 but nothing as of yet.
DLR has no MB access so unfortunately you will have to link the ticket on the Disneyland app,
Thanks for the info! I’ve linked my tickets on the app, so do I scan into the gate and into Genie+ using my phone, and can I do it for all members of my party? We didn’t get hard tickets.

When you first use the tickets, you will scan the barcode which is on the App or your email. As each barcode is scanned the CM will take a photo of a person and the machine will generate a paper ticket for each person.

You can then use either the paper tickets or the barcode in the App to redeem lightning lanes and enter the parks.

Got it, thanks!

Another thing about MagicBands, the only official Disney statement I have found is Josh D'Amaro announcing that MagicBand+ (or 2.0) is coming to DLR in 2022.

I still don't know if that means that the original MagicBands are also acceptable or guests have to buy the new version of MagicBands for DLR? Because this is Disney, I have a hunch what the answer is and folks with old-school MagicBands (myself included) are going to be disappointed with my hunch.

IIRC someone 'official' at Disney has said that MB2 (current one) and MB+ (upcoming interactive one) will 'work' at DL. I can't remember exactly who/where, but I remember it being in the context of a question and answer as opposed to part of a statement, so I assume it was in an article online somewhere.
