MagicBands and Dining Ressies

Quick question for those of you who have already experienced the MagicBands. Do they scan them to check you in for a dining reservation, or do they still just ask for a name?

I screwed up and made my dining ressies under the wrong MDE account, and it's apparently going to be too much of a hassle to try and change them, so I'm hoping I can just check in with my name and not have it be an issue.

Even if they change to scanning MBs before your trip, I am sure you could simply explain the situation at the podium. I doubt they will though, as many off-site and local guests will not have MBs to scan.

They only time your MagicBand would be scanned for dining is if you want to charge it to your room or you are using one of the dining plans.

Erionm's right - you give your name for seating, and they'll ask you if you're on the dining plan once you're at the table. If you say yes, the server will scan your band at that point - if not, it's business as usual.

They will scan your band if you are eating at a resort and want to park there though. Last time we ate at The Wave, they scanned DH's band, saw the reservation and waved us right through the gate.
