MagicBand vs. Card

After a few times, we made sure not to get in line behind people with cards.

How did you do that? Did you see people with cards in front of you, then just get out of line and wonder off? How would I know if someone 10 in front of me had a card or band?

"Why not let the other 4 people keep track of their own card?"

I guess I'm assuming that *most* people have younger kids that they wouldn't just hand a card too. I guess an older child with a lanyard would be ok. But like I said, I used a card and a magic band back to back and much preferred the convenience of the magic band. I'm sure plenty of people are fine with the card and before I saw the comparison, I was fine with it too but for our family, the magic bands by far were much easier to use than dealing with the cards.

And yes we noticed people with cards slowing the line down as well several different times. Granted, it was usually people that didn't pull it out until they were literally right there but still....if you are going to use the cards at least have them ready to go.

Um, when you enter the parks, there are a variety of entry points where you scan your magic band...we could see the people ahead of us that had cards...we would move to a different line to get in the park to avoid the longer wait.

If you are in line for a ride, you are obviously sh*t out of luck.

We saw lots of people having difficulty with the scans of the cards at the entry turnstiles and the ride queues. It seemed to me that the magic bands scanned better than the cards. Every time I saw that a CM had to raise an arm to signal for help, it was because a card wouldn't scan. We were at the parks for 9 days, BTW.

Saw some people with cards having difficulties but also a lot people with MB's having problems trying to line them up just right to get the "go" signal. Overall though the card problems seemed to take longer to remedy.

Ohhh! Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about the rides! I was wondering how it could avoided!!! I get it now :o

We had the same experience. Magic Bands all the way. I just wish I could use mine at home!
