MagicBand testing

Is there anything we can do to up our chances of getting picked? Online checkin maybe?

I have seen a few posts where others had to complete on-line check-in before the 'Personalize MagicBands' option became available.

Where does it "become available" at? Online or on the app?

Also, I'm wondering if my daughters lack of an AP will hinder our chances. Maybe I should get her voucher now and link it? I was just going to get it when we got there but I'll probably need it to book FP+ right?

Both. The app will get a new link for 'MagicBands & Cards'. On the website, the 'Manage MagicBands' option will change to 'Personalize MagicBands' until the bands actually ship.

I seen a number of reports where people have successfully linked AP will-call confirmations to MDE and could then make FP+ selections.

We're locals so we don't use will-call or vouchers, we just purchase (or renew) our APs at WDW.

No problem. Our MagicBands arrived yesterday and 28 days until AKV Jambo House and F&W.

I just talking to someone on the phone and she said that the system cannot take confirmation #'s for AP's but that when we arrive they'll be able to include my daughter in all of our FP+ reservations.

Sounds fishy to me. :sad2:

There are 4 of us in the family with 3 having PAP's. (My 13 year old was on a class trip and they required her to have a regular ticket not a PAP which is why she's the only one currently without an active ticket)

We tried to book DVC for a last minute trip but with no availability we ended up at POR paying cash using a pin code. The CM on the phone said that they were testing out the magic bands at POR during our stay.

We are waiting to see if AP rates will be released for Oct and if that will be a better deal than the pin code.

You don't need to be chosen. You simply need to be staying at one of the testing resorts during the testing period. We are spending two nights at Pop Century in October, followed by a stay at SSR. When our 60-day window opened I did online check in and then I was immediately able to customize MBs and make FP+ selections. I did not get anything from Disney in the mail saying I was selected. Pop is testing during the time I am staying there so I am able to take advantage of the service.

If you are staying at POR and they are testing MBs during your stay you will be able to get and use them. You will also be able to take advantage of the FP+ system. Of course you can always opt out if you would rather not use them.
 
I bought my APs online through the ticket link which recognized me as DVC and gave me that price.

My Magic Bands have arrived.

I have Will Call confirmation numbers for the APs and have linked all passes and booked all my Fastpass+ selections.

It was very easy and fun.

Sammie, when are you going and what resort are you staying at? We are visiting in November. There have been so much speculation for November -- everything from live for all resorts to no testing until after the first of the year -- anxiously awaiting some direction from Disney.

Your ease of access to both the Magic Bands and FP+ is encouraging.

I just got bands via UPS. I was surprised to see it came with no instructions. I figured it would come with some instruction for check in, how to get my premier pass linked (it was linked till last night on MDE, now it seems it's not and I can't link it) and any other info for usage.

Hi I am read all these post we are going to F&W beginning of Oct and just found out the bands are in the mail. Tonight however I am not able to link our CA purchased Premier pass and also hope this will not effect our Dec trip to DL.

I am also not able to make any FP+ picks past Oct 3? So a little confused, guess I will have to call cust service.

I was also trying to link, our Pirate Leaque and babysitting reservations but unable too.

Last one - glad to see a post about the halloween party and still needing the paper tickets which we need to get out will call...so even though its on reservation we still need ticket.

My pass is back showing in my profile, but there are numerous reports that say I need to exchange my pass for RFID one, but again with no instructions it's hard to figure out. Funny about 10/3. I have Fastpass+ booked through 10/15.

I think that is where I went wrong. I bought my daughter's AP and had them send me the voucher in the mail. I think had I just done "will call" then I think that confirmation # would have worked.

Just an observation-I'm staying at Jambo right now, one of the test resorts, and only about half the guests are wearing MB. I'd think that at a test resort, virtually everyone would be wearing one. On the DME on the way here, a woman told me "Yeah, we got some kind of letter about some test thingie, but I don't know what it was." I'm not sure how Disney guests will deal with the actuality.
 
Finally!....it took the third call to Disney's IT, but a woman named Treasure helped! She enabled me to add DH to the MDE FP+ experience. We have what we need!

The MDE is wonderful when it works...shows me everything I have...Thank you, Treasure!

Probably so. I had no problem with the Will Call Confirmation number working. I had heard vouchers would not work.

That's a really good and interesting point/observation! I have a perception or misperception that "everyone" keeps up on things by reading the Disboards. :surfweb: We're going next month and it will be interesting to see how many people are wearing MB.
