Thought this could be a good clearing house for the new tech.

First impressions? They seem to work great! VERY easy to pair with one hitch (see below) and you don't need to type out the whole serial number. Once your phone recognizes the band, it will have you download an update (that was quick!) and then you can actually play with a couple of features, like changing the color scheme.

The hitch is that the button on the back you will need to press a few times throughout the setup process is a bit tough to depress and even tougher to hold down. Kids or adults with less strength or a disability may find this a bit difficult.

But aside from that, so far so good!

Does everyone have to have their own MDE app to pair it to? I'm the only one in the family that has it as I do all the planning.

I'm trying to figure out how a child can use the play parks app as part of the bounty hunters game? Like how do I pair my son's MB+ to the play parks app? Does he use mine, do I create one for him under me, or his own? I do know his MB will show under my MDE, just wasn't sure about the games in the app. He'd probably rather have his own to finish than use mine.

If I’m not mistaken, there is a terminal in GE he can tap into that will activate the game on his app.

But he doesn't have a phone/app, only I do :). See where I'm struggling? So do I create a login for him in the parks play app, or does he have to use mine?

I activated my daughter’s M+ on my phone and there’s a whole menu of options for it. So I think you’ll be able to do it from yours but under his band.

I just got the one I ordered. I pressed the button once, and it flashed green. But everything says tap it to your phone. I do that and NOTHING happens!! HELP!

It’s a timing thing. Keep pressing and tapping. It will work.

Wait- are you doing this with my Disney experience?

Everything I've found says "Press the button once. Tap it to your phone. That will open the MDE app."

Do I need to take the cover off my phone??

Or is there another way?

Open the app first and go to magicbands. Then go to connect a magic band +.

Thank you! You are literally the first in instructions I've found to add that step. The others (All Ears, DFB) I've seen say that tapping it will prompt you to open the app.

Paired and updating now.

Awesome!

What do the charging cords look like? Could I plug in one end to a typical USB style charging port on a portable charger?

Erika’s article mentioned how the new band drained her iPhone battery. I had not thought about that - portable chargers are a must now. I think I will get a fuel rod in the park this time so that I can exchange it if necessary.
