Magicband shipping?

Ok, so in addition to my ongoing headaches over all things MDE:headache: I have another question..... I keep seeing my MB/card page, it says may ship soon- but I have a feeling that unless they ship fast, we won't be geting bands before we leave. If that happens, can I bring my tickets to checkin,and just get grey bands? I don't care what color they are as long we can use our reserved times,etc. Can I use my ticket card to get into a park if I want to instead of a band?
*due to a number of circumstances,I don't want to call on my acct right now, every single day brings new problems,and I know that call would only complicate things more*

1. Yes but, you won't need your tickets to do so.
Everyone who stays at a WDW on-site resort gets MagicBands, regardless of tickets.

2. They now have the various colors at the front desk.
As long as your tickets show up on your MDE account (and they must be there
if you have FP+ reservations in place) so, your "at the resort desk" MBs will work just fine.

3. Yes on that aspect, too. Hard plastic tickets and MBs will work interchangeably.
 
I added an additional day onto our trip next week at a separate WDW resort and was able to customize my band. There isn't enough time to ship it to my home, so my MDE message told me it would be at the resort for pick up. I assumed it would be the customized ones I ordered, not just the standard ones. Not sure now. I guess I'll find out soon!

It seems like if they ship, they will arrive in time. They seem to have the delivery time figured out. We've done several last minute trips and they always seem to arrive on time~ :moped:

Sounds like they are stuck. To get them unstuck, you call Tech Support (or call the main number and get transferred). Since you don't want to call, you won't get them unstuck. I've heard many times that as long as you have them customized they will end up waiting for you at the resort.

If you're only staying onsite you won't be getting the resort-stay-based MBs anyway.

Only on-site stays are sent Magic Bands, so if you're strictly off-site, you won't be getting one unless you purchase it after you arrive.

Unless you PURCHASED your MB in advance from the Disney Store on-line, you won't be getting MB shipped to you.
 
They have really been tightening up the shipping on the MBs lately. My last trip, I got the bands about ten days out. For my trip this month, they arrived about 7 days out. I personally think that timing is too close, particularly for people who may be cruising or vacationing elsewhere prior to checking in at a WDW resort. I thought 30 days was a good time frame.
 
I remember they used to send them out a bit earlier, now it seems they wait until the very last minute.

We're driving cross country and leaving 8 days before check in! Should I call reservations and request that they send the bands to Ft Wilderness to be picked up at check in?

If we don't do that & leave before the bands arrive, will they issue new ones when we get there?

1. You can TRY. Reading replies from others, it won't likely do you any good.
(The system is just too big and complex for them to make changes fast enough
to matter.)

2.Yes. It is very common for them to have to issue new MBs
for guests who did not get them in the mail, or forgot to pack them, or...

The idea of shipping them is quite flawed.
I know they wanted to use them for Disney's Magical Express, but too many
guests don't have the bands available after the plane lands, anyway.
(They packed them in checked luggage.)

Ok, I am traveling with my dsis, split stay- she got her bands for her 2nd part of her stay yesterday, but we haven't gotten any for the first part of our stay yet (together) I am not going to worry, will just get some at checkin if needed. If she brings hers along for her 2nd part, will they work for her first few days? technically it's 2 different res. or will they give here another grey one at checkin to use for a few days,till the next res. starts?

1. Yes. Any MB that is connected to a guest's MyDisneyExperience files
will work for any and all trips also linked to their MDE.

2. Doesn't matter how many reservations a guest has.

3. The resorts have more than just the grey colors, now.
If a guest needs a MB (for whatever reason) the MBs can be obtained on-site one way or another.

I know if they wait to arrive until 7 days prior I'll be in minor pickle as one of bands needs to go to another state and we really need for ME as we never got voucher thingies just tags.

No worries, as you do not need a MagicBand to use DME.

All you need to do is identify yourself at the DME counter and they can give you
new vouchers for the bus.

MDE is in many ways a facade, and the MB part of the site is no different. DW and I bought a new home in March, after our previous Disney trip but well prior to even scheduling our current one. There is a "Shipping Address" part of the customize MB website, which has always reflected our new address. Yet when calling a CM to add plane information for DME, the CM told us our MBs were being shipped to our old address!!! :mad:

Advice: Calling is ALWAYS a better option if you prefer accuracy.
 
Our trip is Jan 22nd and my MDE account says the same thing. That the MBs should ship any time. Hoping they are here in time because I have some excited kiddos:thumbsup2

Our trip is the same time as yours and we got ours last week, but my friend who is also going January 22 hasn't gotten hers yet. Go figure!

Is there any way to re-check online for our ME res? (as noted in other threads, we had some issues with proper names attached to the tags) Or should I just trust that ME will get my bags to our proper hotel based on the barcodes? I have only done this one time,and it is making me nervous,I am picturing our luggage going...I don't know where!:laughing:
 
So -- I've been reading all these posts (here and on FB) about Magic Bands being held up for one reason or another. Our bands were originally marked to ship 12/28 but are still marked 'ship any minute' and have been since 12/28. So I took the good advice and called.

Here's what happened -- my husband goes by his middle name, not his first name. I opted to have his middle name on his magic band -- the system 'decided' that was a misspelling, so it put the order on hold (not that I or anyone else was ever notified, but whatever...)

So -- word to the wise -- when in doubt, CALL.
