MagicBand, old ticket with leftover days and annual pass

Hello,

We are planning a trip to VGF in Nov of this year. We are also likely going again in Sept 2015.

During our last trip we linked some 10 day park hopper no expire tickets to our MagicBands. We bought those tickets as a hedge against ticket price increases and they average about $55 per day. (Now I think the same tickets are about $73 per day.)

We are looking at getting the annual pass at the discounted rate and saving the 10 day tickets for later. Is there a way to un-link those tickets from the MagicBands?

Also, since my MIL is coming on both trips would she be able to get a discounted annual pass as well?

Guest relations should be able to unlink the MYW tickets from your MDE profile and issue them on cards.

Also, since my MIL is coming on both trips would she be able to get a discounted annual pass as well?

She would have to reside in your household to be eligible for member pricing. All adults (ages 18 +) need to show photo id with the same address as on the membership.

We had both 10 day non expiring tickets and Florida resident weekday annual passes on our magic bands. My son was able to unlink the 10 day tickets through the MDE himself.

I'm glad to hear that you can UNLINK a pass from a band (or really an account). In December we were there with my father. He had 2 4 day passes from the early 90's that each had 1 day left on them (the old paper tickets they stamped upon entry). He turned them for 2 single day parkhoppers at the gate. We had already linked a 5 day parkhopper pass to his MDE before traveling and at the park they informed us there was no way to unlink a ticket once it had been linked. He DID NOT use the 5 day to enter the park.....he had used one of the single day tickets. (we were only there for 3 days and we also had MVMCP tickets for 1 day, so we figured it was a waste to activate the 5 day when he had those old tickets). We had to link the single day ticket AFTER entering the park to use the FP+ system. It was a hassle. If we can unlink, then I'm going to do that. I will probably buy it from him since who knows when he will be back.

After looking at his MDE, it appears I can only reassign the ticket...not unlink it. I could assign it to myself or family member....as long as your MDE accounts are linked together.

OP when was your last trip? I'm thinking you would receive another set of MBs before your next trip...but certainly no expert on the new system lol

We had magic bands for trip in January and waiting shipment for a new set of MBs (in connection w/same PAP used for the January trip).

When I was in process of personalizing the new bands, noticed that my DH had 'disappeared' from my friends & family.I called and they were able to link him back up and re-register his PAP.

We aren't planning on renewing our APs until next year. Have an AP old voucher & a unused MYW tix (to upgrade to AP) on hand that we plan to activate next summer. We do have several 'older' non-expiry MYW tix with days remaining that we had decided to use for our October trip. I asked if we should link them while I was on the call, but were advised to wait until our PAPs expire this summer. Seemed odd, will hang onto them jik for our October trip.

Re our intent to upgrade the unused MYW tix to an AP (via a bridge for increased price after using it once in the parks), wondering if that will still work?
