Magicband+ at Disney - worth it?

Yeah, I don't really get why people complain about the cost of MB+ (I mean, since when does Disney sell you things at cost?). Plus in this case, it's cute AND functional in a pretty cool way, and is not a required purchase.
Could it be because they were once included in the price of WDW hotel stay?

Yes most probably but they were only plain coloured ones which I probably would have paid to upgrade to anyway. You are right though it is just another thing Disney has taken away as a perk of staying at their hotels. Still I can't wait to get mine and thanks again for finding Pooh Bear for me.

I get a MK discount and I bought my first one on sale to boot. I don't see MB+ in the same way as the new LLPremier which has the potential to change the dynamics in an unfavorable way for those who don't have it. I'm still pretty miffed about that one.
Yes I don't like that that they have introduced an LLPremier Pass but then I didn't like it when they introduced paid FastPass. Guess like most things in life I just have to learn to adapt but it does make me sad that Disney now just seem to be so focused on money, money, money. Means I won't be able to retire any time soon if I want to keep going to a Disney Park. I may still be working at age 80 to fund my passion. :moped:

LOL I know what you mean! I once went to DL for my birthday with my friend and we each only spent $29, ha ha. I had free flights on SW, a bunch of those rewards you used to get from Rainforest Cafe/Landry's restaurants plus a free meal on your birthday, and a few other things like that. Between the free meals and flights and a free ride to/from the airport from another friend who lives in Huntington Beach, it was a pretty cool feat. We flew down on the first flight and back on the last so no hotel cost. All in all, it was probably the cheapest trip I ever made to DLR other than when my parents took me as a kid.

Well, I just went last November and they were still included in thepackage, although the selection wasnt great. DH got Star Wars and I got Tinkerbell.
Could you please explain a bit more about your package and how you got your MB's. Was this at Disneyland or WDW?

I think this may be why my adult daughter is still living with me as all she has to fork out for is her flights and buy the occasional meal other than that I pay for the accommodation and everything else. :rotfl2:I joke of course as we are a very close package deal my daughter and I. She loves living with me and as she is on the autism scale not likely to move out anytime soon which is fine by me. We both get along really well and I love going on holidays with her, she is so much fun and somehow we both manage to ease each others anxiety about flying and travelling in general which I am not sure how that works but it does.

Oh, I totally get that! One of my DD's was diagnosed with what used to be called Asperger's. Lots of interesting challenges but man, I honestly think it also gave her a lot of gifts. She learned to channel her anxiety etc into performing :) I often think I would have been diagnosed as on the spectrum had they had such a thing back then, but maybe everyone thinks that ha ha.

Anyway, isn't it wonderful to have that bond??? I wouldn't trade it for anythiing.

Absolutely and what my daughter has done in spades is "embrace her weirdness". She even has a T-Shirt with that exact slogan emblazoned across the front which she wears with pride.

MB is a drop in the bucket compared to the overall cost of the vacation.

It's a slight convenience to have it ....but we keep ours and made keepsakes of them.

It's just something else you can do to enhance the memories.

I'll be there in Feb also!

At WDW...when we booked the package for hotel, tickets, etc...we got the option to pick a magic band plus for each of us and then they shipped them to us. 🤷‍♀️

:rotfl2:I doubt DL would ever be that accommodating.

Did LKing find you the old Pooh magic band or the new one or do you care? All the old ones disappeared off Disney Store but I found some on ebay.

Hi Tinkaboo, LKing found me the new one which is the one on the green band. I don't like it as much as the old one, as green is not really my colour but it has Pooh Bear on it so I will love it anyway. We are there very soon now so hopefully we will be able to find it at World of Disney or the Star Wars shop in DTD before we hit the parks on the Sunday. I'd really like to get all our Magic Bands on our arrival day (Saturday) and have them set up and ready to go for our first day in the park on the Sunday. Fingers Crossed.

They are also sold at Pin Traders (next to the monorail) in DTD.
