Magicard vent

I sent off for the Orlando Magicard several weeks ago as I have read numerous tips about how long it takes to get in. I guess it took about 6 weeks, so that would be me rquesting it at the beginning of Feb *2004*. I finally get the card, and it says in several places that the card & offers expire in 2003. Ok, maybe they don't know when I am going, but as it was requested in 2004, isn't it a safe bet I can't use it??? Even the imagineers could not come up with a way around this one. I KNOW it is free, so don't flame me, but it is also worthless. Why not charge a few dollars & update it on time? I guess I could request it again and hope it comes in by May and hope it will be for 2004. Any advice?

I requested one off of their web site and received it about two weeks later. You might try that to request a new one.

Are you sure that the card expires? In the past, the Magicard itself never had any expiration date but the offers themselves did. You could use any Magicard for any current offer no matter how long you had the card. If they are now putting expiration dates on the card, that is something new.

I called to request a new card since mine was expiring in 2003 and the CSM said they don't offer new cards, but if you look on the website it lists the new offers???? I didn't worry about it too much because I didn't really think I was going to use it, but it seems like bad business. How can you guarantee that the merchant will honor the card if it says expires in 2003??

If you go to the Magic Card Web Site you can print a card and brochure right from the sight. Just learned this today in my Frommers newsletter.

GoldenOldie, yes, they did put an expiration date actually ON my card. Go figure. I thought that was a new thing, too.
