magicalley making cindies ressies

This isn't about the other site, but an interesting fact. I called dining on Sunday to make my PS for Chef Mickeys (120 days out) and chatted with the CM about how hard it is for lots of folks to make CRT PS (glad I have no little girls). She said when she arrived that morning at 7:00 AM there were 89 calls on hold. She said every morning is like that. I waited until 9:30 to call for my PS to avoid the chaos. I asked her why she thinks it's like that and had she heard that there are companies that buy up the PS. She said that doesn't happen anymore since they now require a CC to hold the deposit. I suggested they go back to the old ways of making PS....wonder if anyone out there remembers. (Sorry to the folks not staying on-site) but when I started going to WDW, one of the "resort" perks was that you could call 30 days BEFORE non-resort guest could call to get your PS. That certainly would help knock out some of the illegal buying of the PS. Just a thought! And I give everyone out there credit for your termination in getting these precious PS. BTW I did get my PS for Chef Mickey's at 5:00 PM (first seating).

I remember the whole ugly Howies angels mess! Bascally, all the angry posters at RADP ran Howies angels off the Rita Aero site and then Rita Aero threatened the RADP posters with the FBI etc.
It was quite absurd. I would never pay money for someone to make a PS for me or to join a internet group so I can be free of "cyber terror" Get a grip. its Disney- wer'e planning our trips to go have fun. I dont need to pay 40 bucks to be saved from cyber Disney terrorists.Who buys into this nonsense?

Pardon my ignorance but by checking the webpage they have access to your hard drive for 6 months?! Is this true! If so,very scary.

I hope that the WebMasters are following this thread closely and act appropriately.

I don't intend to join this site or pay anyone to make reservations for me, BUT -- just to be ornery -- I'd like to point out that there are at least two popular (and honest) mechanisms that are essentially "paying for reservations" . . .

1. Concierge service. One of the big reasons to stay in these ultra-expensive rooms is to have your reservations all-but-guaranteed.

2. Rainforest Cafe's Safari Club. It guarantees that you can walk in and get the next table.

Again, I think these Magic Alley people are nuts to charge this way, but I'm just pointing out that lots of people are willing to pay to have their reservations made.

Has anyone here joined? If so, what is it like there?

Is there a problem with this thread? What actions do you deem necessary from them?

Good points, although one could argue #1. Since concierge is provided by Disney for Disney they are offering their own services. Including somtimes but not always a hard to get reservation. A website charging to procure and offer the services of another business isn't quite comparable to concierge IMHO.

#2 - does this still apply in other parts of the country? Here in MA they discontinued the "walk up" service as the Safari Club got too popular. We can still make a reservation up to 24 hours in advance but no more "next table". Still worth it because of the discounts and coupons however.

OT - Is the "walk up" benefit still available at WDW? It would be nice to have the option at either DTD or AK, tia.

DU will also make your PS if you ask.

However, my favoirte part is that the website in question says that the FBI is actively working with them. EXCUSE ME! We are at an Orange alert, can't the FBI find something to besides worry about Cindy's breakfast reservations! LOL!!!!!

Carol I was thinking the same thing....

You're right. There are people who are willing to pay to have their reservation made, but your examples have nothing to do with the Breakfast Club or Magic Alley. Concierge service and Rainforest Cafe are examples of companies offering something they own to their customers. They have the right to do that. It's their product they're offering.

Magic Alley sure can't say the same thing.

Laughable, isn't it?!?

Cute avatar, JAP!!

As for your question, I doubt there's much of anything going on at Magic Alley. Most of the people who used to post there have moved on to the forum at www.tagrel.com. You might want to check it out. They seem like a nice bunch of folks.
