Magical Southern Caribbean ~ 9/20/14

Not Disney trip but DH and I and my girls are heading to New Zealand and Australia in May for 10 days. Can't wait!

We have a trip to San Diego planned for October school break but I'm going to sneak in a visit to California Adventure, as we've never been.

No cruises, unfortunately.

Figured out when I'm going to FL, I'm flying back with DD the middle of June. Not sure how long I'll stay down.

Dave & Ellen here, we were orig booked on the Magic doing the west bound TA. Had to cancel, taking off 2+ weeks was too long to take off for work. New projects came up.

We are in cabin 5009

Parents of 2 college kids... One will grad this May!
This will be our 4th Disney cruise and second time on the Magic.

Sue & Richard.... Noticed you are from Yorkshire, England. Our friend has rented a farm house there this fall and wanted us to join her. Unfortunately we already decide to do Disney Food & Wine thru DVC. Of course I had to look up where Yorkshire was located at. The farm house she rented is right there by some national forest... I think is what she told me.

Yes..we would love to get together with you...always more fun to do activities with new friends!

Hi Dave and Ellen. What a coincidence we are going to be in WDW for the Food and Wine at the beginning of November this year!

We moved to Yorkshire from Devon about 3 years ago and Yorkshire is one of the largest counties in the UK so it's split into North and South Yorkshire which is where we live. There is a lot of National Forestry land in Yorkshire so I would have no idea where your friends are staying. BUT please tell them to make the road trip up past Newcastle to Northumberland and if they like castles to visit they will be spoilt for choice. We were there only last weekend and spent time in Alwnick at the White Swan hotel which has the dining room from the Titanics sister ship Olympic....when the ship was being broken up the hotel bought the wood panelled walls, ceiling and stained glass windows and rebuilt it into their dining room. Alnwick castle (pronounced ANNIK) was also where they filmed the flying broom stick scenes for Harry Potter #1.
We also stayed on Holy Island (Lindisfarne) and the castle there is spectacular. There are lots of National Trust properties in Yorkshire and Northumberland and if your friends join the USA Royal Oak Foundation they are affiliated with our National Trust so can get in for free with their membership.

Anyway think I have prattled on long enough.....for now!!

Can't believe that last week we were on our "Wonder" cruise and now we're back home. Our cruise provided us with many 1st - including our 1st sea rescue. Last Friday as we were sailing between Key West and Havanna our cruise was asked to check out a raft that was spotted by the US Coast Guard. Low and behold - a raft w/8 men trying to get to the US. After seeing this - it really makes me realize how fortunate we are to be living in the USA.....

Now I'm wondering what new adventures our Southern Caribbean cruise will bring us?

Hi all!

Finally got my spring trip to WDW figured out. I will be at the world 5/4-5/7 (just me this time!). Anyone else? Wanna meet?? Staying with my DD and DSIL in Kissimmee this time - out of points this year.

Next trip: F&W probably in early Nov.

oh, and I might be moving to south central IL - scary!

The changes make this cruise even more exciting.

Some pretty cool changes. Topsiders definitely needs some upgrading. Disappointing that they are not upgrading the Cove Cafe like on the Wonder.

Also, sad to see the Mickey pool going - kind of an icon for the fleet.

I am lucky enough to see the changes in Jan - my BF, me and my parents are in the Walt on the Magic. I am so disappointed I have never been on it before and will never see it "classic" because I love the Wonder's atrium. It is dark, yes, but so much more intimate than the Dream class ships. Everything else gets a thumbs up - ESPECIALLY Parrot Cay being replaced!

We are back from our 12 day Med cruise on NCL. Amazing trip. The itinerary was fabulous.Definately not DCL but for the money was so worth it. We ran into Rick Steeves in Ephesus.
