Magical ideas for a 6 year-old girl's birthday in Disney

Over the years our 2 daughters have been treated to many spontaneous and magical moments by Disney cast members. The euphoria that our girls feel is contagious and it's what keeps us going back. (Our cars are getting old enough that we will probably be riding bicycles to work soon, but atleast we have our priorities straight and are still going to Disney. :) )

For example, when we took our daughters dressed as princesses to the Yachstman Steakhouse this past April, the manager came out at the end of dinner with a long stemmed red rose for each girl, a reward for good behavior. Both girls were :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: as you can imagine.

Every time we go, something different happens, but it is always magical and unforgettable...

Well, anyway, my question is: what if we were to bring the girls down for their birthdays? We have never done this before and we have never gone to Disney expecting magical treatment, it just seems to happen when we least expect it. Do you have any suggestions for making a birthday super magical... I'm really open to anything... any idea would be appreciated!

Thanks so much.

We usually go for my youngest ones birthday (now 12). Her birthday is near Halloween & one year we went to 1900 Park Fair for dinner. The Princess's were there then. My daughter had on her Snow White dress (since we were going directly over to MNSSHP). We let them know it was her birthday & they called her into the middle of the room, along with others that were celebrating their birthdays. All of the Princess's stood around them in a circle to sing to them, Snow White went up to my daughter & kneeled down next to her to sing directly to her. I think that had to be the most memorable one for us. She enjoyed it too, not that she can remember it now though ;)

It has become a tradition in our family to take our children to Disney for their fifth birthday. Both of my boys had spontaneous magical moments on their special day...ds#1 drove the Jungle Cruise boat (and he really thought he was driving - so cute!), had everyone in the Tiki bird show sing to him, and Push the talking trash can did a whole song and dance for him. We worried that Disney would never be able to match that kind of magic for ds#2 who turned 5 a day and a year later, but they did! For ds#2 he was selected to open MK at the rope in FantasyLand and they gave him a special certificate and 5 passes to go directly to the front of the line on 5 rides! DS was tempted to use them all on Dumbo, but thankfully he decided otherwise :-) We are head to Disney at the end of June for dd#1's 5th birthday, and I have planned Magical moments like breakfast in the castle her birthday morning and dinner at the GF and then the Princess Tea party later in the week as well as a wishes birthday cruise, but I have no doubt there will be special spontaneous magical moments just for her - can't wait to see what they are! Oh, and we already know we will be in Disney in december 2009 when dd#2 turns 5 :-)

I understand there is quite a celebration at Cindy's castle if you tell them in advance.

We're doing that for DD who will be 7 this June.

The Grand Floridian hosts a tea party (with an Alice in Wonderland theme) that my DisneyLittleSister LOVES. She first went when she was 6...maybe 7? She just turned 10 and still looks forward to going. She has never been on her birthday, as it falls in May, and we are only able to go during summer vacation or Holidays since everyone has work or school. However, because Disney is so accomodating when it comes to special events, if you were to let any of the members know ahead of time, or even when you got there, if you decide to do the tea party, I'm sure they would work some kind of magic.
Also, the tea party is "hosted" by Alice and the Mad Hatter, so these characters make an appearance and take a picture with each child at the tea party, and the picture is included with the thing. I am not 100% positive how much this costs, but it is a really special party, and DisneySister talks about it all the time!

We will be celebrating our DS 5th bday at WDW at the end of June too...the 25 to be exact! When will you be celebrating?!?! We are doing the Family Magic Tour that morning, then lunch at CRT and dinner at Chef Mickey's! Cannot wait! :cool1:

Make sure you get a birthday button at the entrance to the park. (town hall in MK). Everyone, CM's included, will be wishing her happy birthday all day. Whatever PS's you have arranged for that day, make sure they know you will be celebrating a birthday. Have it noted on your ressie for your resort that there is a birthday. Magical things can happen!

The GF also host a Princess Aurora tea party. My DD6 and I will go in June. It will cost us $213, but IMO priceless. I feel like now is the time to do an event like this, because in a year or two, I know it won't be the same for her. There is more information about The Perfectly Princess Tea Party on the WDW website, and tons on the Disboards if you do a search. I know her day will be special no matter what you do. How could it not be--you'll be in Disney World! ::MickeyMo

These are all awesome ideas! Thank you so much! If anyone else has ideas for how to put a smile on a birthday face, please let me know.

Thanks! :flower:
