Magical Gatherings

Anyone ever done Magical Gatherings? We're trying to put together a family reunion with just my husbands side of the family next year. We've decided on April 23- 30th 2005. All of our kids have the same spring break. There are between 30 - 40 of us, still unsure of the number, who want to come and who can't. I've been trying to download the Magical Gatherings application from Disney's website but I am having alot of trouble with it opening. Anyone ever used this? I emailed Disney in regards to this and waiting for a response. Anyway, I'd like to know if Disney gives good discounts on lodging, dining, etc... when you book a Magical Gathering? I am putting this together pretty much on my own. My brother-in-law offered to help which I'm sure I'll need. It's going to be a challange but I am really excited planning this. Planning any Disney trip is exciting and fun! Any info. you can spare on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Connie

We will be there in June with our gang for our Magical Gathering. There are no 'discounts', although with your group, you can probably get some kind of Group Rate since it is much larger than our "Gathering". The Magical Gathering Program is absolutely adorable! It has Tinkerbell fly in and 'greet you' when you sign on and off of it. It gives you the ability to 'officially invite' the guests you have in mind and get them to vote on their likes and/or dislikes, you can poll them, get their favorites and feedback on what they would or would not like to do while there. You also have the option of booking certain dinners, breakfasts and fireworks cruises that are only available to Grand Gathering people. Epcot Illumination dinner/dessert is about $60 per adult and maybe $20 or so for children, Fireworks cruise serves snacks/dessert and you get to see Capt Hook & Smee before you 'shove off' and is about $30 or so per adult $15 or so per child. Breakfast in Tony's Town Square as well. Hope that helps.

Hi! I have coordinated a trip for my church and we leave in 9 days! I worked with Disney Group Sales(let me know if you need the number). We have approx. 70 people going and have booked 21 rooms at Disney's All Star Movie Resort. I worked with a sales manager first, Jeremy Holder and now I work with Roberto Cruz, a representative. Everything has gone fairly smooth, not always as quickly as I would have liked, like returning emails, phone calls, etc. but no hitches so far. We were able to get rooms for $89 plus tax and our tickets for Disney World were $104 for adults for 2 days total and $83 for children 3-9 for 2 days total. The only thing we don't have access to is the water parks. These can be included but for an additional cost. You would have to sign a contract and rooms can't be added or deleted after 45 days prior to your arrival. No refunds after that time either. It has been a good experience so far! Thank you both for the information. I still haven't heard from Disney in regards to the Magical Gatherings and on the program download from their website. I still can't get the Magical Gatherings program to open. It downloaded but won't open. I know you have to be online to use it which I was when trying to open it. It sounds like I could really use it to help me plan.
Magical Gatherings sounds like it would be great for all of us to get together all at once. Thanks again StinkerbellsMom and katybugsmom. Any other info. would be great, even help for the Magical Gatherings program to work. Again thanks! Connie

Just to let you know, I had trouble downloading the program as well. Never used it. I did everything through group sales and never had to go back to the program nor did they request information through it. Hope this helps!
