Magical Gatherings Wishes Cruise Questions?

We've booked this cruise for March and have a few questions.

How many people are on the boat that departs from the Contemporary? Does it have a roof? Will that block the view?

I remember seeing a description somewhere that people sit on benches in the boat. How close are they? Is there ample leg room? DH is a big guy, both in height and girth, and will not be happy if he's squished in like a sardine.

Are Smee and Capt. Hook along for the entire ride? And are snacks and drinks offered on the boat?

Thanks in advance for your help!

:D

We're going on the cruise next week. From what ive read there are up to 45 people on the boat and that you have plenty of room on the benches.

Captain Hook doesnt go with you on the trip.

Snacks are available before the cruise.

If im back before you leave then I can write and give you more info. :wave2:

:wave2: Thanks, eblondie! We'll be leaving on the 12th, so if you are back before then, I'd love to hear your description of the boat and the experience!

Have a wonderful vacation!:sunny:

We did the cruise last week and LOVED itpirate: !

The boats have preassigned seating. We were 6 adults, 1 teen, 8, 7 & 2 yo. We were assigned 3 rows, it was more than ample. We could have had a few more with no problem.

I suggest dressing warmly, it is cold out on the water, though they do provide blankets.

Food is before hand with Chocolate Chip Cookies wrapped to take with you.

Smee and Hook were avail for pictures, skipped down the dock with my DS and than wave off the boats.

The baot does have a canopy but it does not block the view. They work hard at positioning the boat and adjust slightly throughout to ensure prime view for all.

It truly was a magical experience. Ask any other questions, I would be happy to answer.

Sandy

PS. BTW, we met up with DISers to make our group of 8. It was a great experience and I highly recommend people sharing if they need to the same way we share Illuminations cruises.

InstImpres,

I'm glad you had a great time. Glad to hear you met with other Disers for the cruise. I booked this, posted it in the March cruises, and haven't gotten a nibble. We've already seen FITS from a pontoon boat before in what was a very magical experience for us. We're considering cancelling this as the more we find out, the less we seem inclined to spend for 8 but only have 4!

Thanks for the feedback!:D

2 things -

I was disappointed with FITS from the Pontoon but this was amazing, interactive and very different.

I also posted on cruise central and got no response. I did get a response to a seperate thread "Do you want to join me on a Wishes MG, February 16?"

Just some thoughts
Sandy

P.S. I also read a post that if you are an AP holder you can do this without being a party of 8

:wave2: Hi Sandy,

Thanks for the suggestions. I may list it under a separate thread and see if I get a response. I just might steal your thread title and change the date!!!;)

With the AP, you still need a party of 8, but it doesn't require staying on Disney property under the grand/magical gatherings program.
