Has anyone done the Magical Gatherings Safari Celebration Dinner at the Animal Kingdom? The description sounds like a lot of fun, but the dinner is held at the Tusker House, which is a walk up dining restaurant. While the food there is good, it doesn't seem to warrant the price being charged for the event. We are approaching our 90 day window to book magical gatherings and I'd love to get some feedback from someone who has done this one.

We did the Safari Dinner on Feb 9th. The dinner is definately not counter service food! There are several courses and several offerings at each course. It is supposed to be a sampling of African cuisine. We enjoyed it(I especially liked the salads). The seasonings were really good, better than I expected. The safari itself wasn't really extra special, but the guide was very nice and answered many of our questions. All the kids in our group had fun. Turk and Timone were our characters. My oldest daughter got to pet a pine snake. Overall it was a good experience. I personally liked the Magical Fireworks Cruise better. We will be doing another Magical Gathering in Dec, we will probably try the International Dinner next time. By the way, one benefit of the Grand Gathering was that they really did try to put all our rooms near each other.
