Magical Fireworks Voyage
"Cast off on a moonlit voyage around the Magic Kingdom® Seven Seas lagoon, which provides the perfect viewing location for the Electrical Water Pageant and the all new Disney Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams. Your evening will begin with a mouth-watering array of sumptuous cookies and desserts. You'll then enjoy your moonlit voyage and have fun with Disney trivia and tales of pirates and Peter Pan along the way. Your evening will end with a special Disney meet and greet with Peter himself."

Has anyone ever done this? IF so can you give me some details. How long? Is it worth the 4? etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated. :earsgirl:

I'd be interested in hearing about this as well & how much time do you get w/ Peter? - Also, what is the cost?

We did it this past July 3rd. It was A LOT of money for not a lot in return. The reception was not exactly "Magical" but it was nice. There was no place to sit down and enjoy the desserts. Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee came out for pictures and after a while even they looked bored. We had fun with our Pirate boat captains that took us in the boat to the front of the Poly. Unfortunately we could not see the fireworks due to being seated on the wrong side of the boat. It was over in a blink of the eye !! There was singing and some token prizes being handed out (which we didn't get since we were in the back of the boat). We returned to the CR and Peter Pan was there to do photos only. Once everyone had therer pictures taken everyone left. He did NOT hurry away however. I would guess that if you were the last ones to do pictures that Peter Pan would hang around until you left. It was nice but not worth the price, in my opinion, even though it was the special 4th of July fireworks !! I would have rather spent the money on souveniers. My girls liked it but were not "wow-ed" by it (ages 12 & 8). It was nice but thoroughly something that can be missed.

Our experience was just the opposite of TheresaNY's, it was one of the favorite things we did on our last trip. Hook and Smee came out for the dessert reception for mingling and pictures. The desserts and drinks were nice and there was seating along the wall opposite the dessert set-up for those that wanted to rest. (Our cruise departed from the Contemporary) Hook and Smee were great, Hook even kissed my mom's hand after she got her picture taken with him.

The boat captain and our Pirate (Patch) were excellent, even returning to the dock to pick up some members of our group who had been delayed. I believe they said that it was the first time they had ever returned to the dock to pick up someone who didn't make the cruise. (Glad they did, there would have been a muntiny had they left them on the dock) pirate:

Patch did trivia questions, sang songs, etc and kept everyone entertained the entire cruise. He did a really good job of keeping everyone engaged and enjoying the experience. The views from the boat as it cruised were amazing, the Castle and the resorts were beautiful at night.

The EWP was great, even with the return to the dock we made it in time to enjoy everything.

For Wishes, my family was seated on the opposite side of the boat during Wishes, but we didn't miss anything being on the opposite side. I didn't get the impression the fireworks were over quickly, I was impressed by how long they lasted.

When we returned to the dock Peter Pan was waiting, and stayed for pictures (we didn't get any, Mom headed straight for a picture opp with Patch; I never knew she had a thing for Pirates  ). I can't remember how long it lasted, but there was plenty of time for everything, even pics with Peter Pan.

I recommend the cruise to anyone who gets the chance, even with one brother very, very ill that night we all agreed that it was one of the best things we did all trip. :wizard:

We have enjoyed the Magical Fireworks Voyage twice this year (Feb and Dec). Each time we thought the event was well worth the money! The desert party is nice, but our favorite is the actual cruise with Patch. He is very talented and everyone on our cruise was included in the activities! We have had all ages of people on each of our cruises and everyone seemed to have a great time. I guess it is true... different strokes for different folks!

We just did it in October (with 2 other DIS families!) We loved it! The reception was nice, nothing really fancy...but nice. The cruise was a hoot! Capt Hook & Mr Smee were great! After our "battle" and Wishes we returned to dock to find Peter...(I wish Wendy was there as well!) We stayed for awhile...he talked a long time to my girls....I dunno I think it was worth the money $39? is that right? We probably wouldn't do it again...but it was fun for a change!

How many people are on a boat? I thought you had to be part of a "Grand Gathering"? Is it a big boat or a small pontoon?

Thanks everybody!

A Grand Gatherings group can book one of these special events, or all of them. Experiences will be shared by multiple Grand Gathering parties. Valid theme park admission is required for all Grand Gathering experiences except the Magical Fireworks Voyage. The same experience must be purchased by at least 8 guests (based on ages 3 and up) in the party. Experiences and dates are subject to change and weather conditions. Availability is limited. Reservations can be made from 90 to 6 days in advance, and full payment for each Experience is required 45 days prior to arrival. May be cancelled up to 6 days prior to first Grand Gathering Experience without penalty. Pricing includes gratuities/service charge(s).

We did this last April and had an excellent time! We also had Patch the Pirate, and he was very entertaining. The fireworks were spectacular. Would highly recommend and we would definitely do this again. pirate:

We had a great time at this as well. Can't remember the exact date, but it was during the week before July 4, 2004.
It had rained earlier in the evening, so our reception was moved inside to the concourse level of the Contemporary. Reception food was nice, my mom especially enjoyed all the desserts. We were able to get bottled water to take on the boats with us.
Hook and Smee mingled and played for a long time. Mr. Smee and my DD hung out almost the entire time, dancing and playing. Other kids at the reception were just more interested in Capt. Hook, so my daughter really hit the jackpot with Smee. I have about 30 minutes of footage with the two of them playing.
Then Hook got jealous of the attention Smee was getting, so he came over to join in. It was great!

Before leaving to board our ships, the CM's handed out ponchos to everyone. (So, we have free Mickey ponchos for our next visit)
We had Patch the pirate as well and he did a great job of entertaining everyone.
We were seated in the front and got lots of attention, but he did good including everyone on board.
My BIL got to blow the conch shell to start the voyage, members of our group answered three of the trivia questions right--so we came home with a hook and two swords, and Patch sang happy birthday to my kids.

We all had a great time and I would do it again. The view of Wishes is spectacular from the water.

The boats are similar to the Epcot resort boats. Two rows, seating 3 -5 on either side of the aisle, perhaps 50 people max. We had a good time.
