Magical Extras Card from Costco

I booked our trip through Costco and was wondering if we also get the Magical Extras card. My reservation says "Room Only" when looking on the app but I did book both rooms and tickets through Costco.

I'm saving over $500 for booking through Costco vs. Direct, so it's not the worst thing in the world if I don't get the Magical Extras.

Honestly I'm not totally sure so hopefully someone else has the actual answer.

But my thoughts...
Did you book a vacation package or did you book room and buy tickets?
Because if Disney has down "room only" then I'm guessing you purchased separately.
Also perhaps buying through a 3rd party means you don't get the "perk".

Do you ever actually use the card when you have gotten it in the past?
I literally never have lol. So to me this would be no big deal.

When you go through Costco, you have to buy both room and tickets at the same time. There isn't an option to book just a room.

This will be only my second trip to DW since 2010. I went a few years ago but had the ultimate discount then, a friend who is a castmember :).

The only real "magic extras" with the card is free mini golf if you can get to a course. And some of the times that has had restrictions (some years not, might be due to dates booked - no idea). If Blizzard Beach isn't open, you have to get yourself to that course. We have literally never used it. I think you might get 20% off at some of the Joffrey's coffee stands. The supposed magic extras are not even close to being worth the $500 you saved.

Thank you!

I also have a Disney Debit card, so that gives 10% off most things as well. Sounds like I'm not missing out anything by not getting the Magical Extras.

You are definitely not missing out on anything! You made out by $500! Nice! Enjoy your trip.

Curious on the $500 savings! Was this vs rack rate or Disney’s general public offers (if they even offered discounts on your dates)?

If it does include Magical Extras you should also get luggage tags sent before the trip. I think they still do that.

I agree, those 'Magical Extras' we got for our last Disney trip were mostly useless. As I recall the 'free' miniature golf was only good during the day when likely most people are at one of the parks. You also need some way to get there if you didn't rent a car. There were also a few merchandise % discounts we never used, but don't recall what the amount was. NONE of that would add up to anything close to $500. Savings comparison also depend on what exactly it is being compared to. Disney at times will also offer discounts, but only on certain rooms and it always advertises those at 'UP TO x% off'.

Luggage tags are nice but not anything I would pay extra for. Frankly, it seemed like those 'extras' were just something for their marketing people to put in the ads.

The luggage tags are overrated. They are like the plastic room cards with a hole cut out in it.

Very true! They are cute, but all of mine have broken off my checked luggage. Not worth $500 (meaning the savings the OP is getting by booking thru Costco, not the cost of the luggage tags)!

Quick update about 3 weeks before my trip, no sign of the Magical Extras Card. I'm not holding out hope but as I mentioned earlier, the savings more than made up for it so I'm not too beaten up about it.
