I’d prefer to drive due to the astronomical price of flights and rental cars but with an infant I don’t think it’s feasible. Having to constantly stop for feedings and diaper changes will add 4-6 hours to my drive from New York, so we’ll be flying. I’m thinking Magical Express is the way to go but I’ve never done it. I guess I have a few different questions: has anyone taken Magical Express with an infant? Is it too much of a headache to leave for the airport 4 hours before your return flight? And finally, might Uber be a better alternative, maybe just on the way home?

From the airport it is very easy. Going to the airport isn't awful, but can take an hour to finally leave the property due to all the hotel stops. It's a pretty comfy ride in a charter bus, so aside from the fact that the trip can take so long, it should be a pleasant one for an infant.

We have done it with three kids. Last year with a 6 month old, 3 year old, and 5 year old. The Magic Express is pretty good, I think the departure time is now 3 hours before the flight. My suggestions are to get the TSA PreCheck, makes going through security much eaiser and is worth every penny (we only travel by plane once a year). We used our stroller for the 6 month old the entire trip including going through the airport. We didn't use child safety seats for any of our kids and felt comfortable with the level of safety on the plane and buses.
