Ok I'v just got back from wdw for the first time and loved it! We have a nice credit through southwest and can get away without my kids for a few days. Does Disneyland have transportation to thier hotels? how about off site ones? Is there transportation to the parks or is it walking distance? We can't rent a car because my DH is in a electric wheelchair. Help!!

Great! Where did you stay? & for how many days?

SW Rocks. :thumbsup2

Does Disneyland have transportation to thier hotels?

Nope. (at least not like WDW...which is free)

You'll need to take a for fee shuttle (like Disneyland Express), a cab or rent a car. (note: Disney in Orlando makes a business decision to offer the free shuttle to get people on THEIR bus & away from the other resorts in Orlando.....this probably wouldn't work as a business decision in SoCal for a number of reasons).

All three Disney Hotels & 6-8 nice hotel/motels on Harbor Blvd. are ALL a safe, short WALK to the TWO parks & to DTD. (One of many reasons why i much prefer DLR over WDW.

These should be your first two stops...after reading Mary Jo's thread, print Hydroguy's first thread (abreviations used at DLR) & then start reading them in order (starting with his DLR for WDW Vets thread):

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

We always drive to Disneyland because my husband too has an electric wheelchair and from Arizona its less than 6 hours drive. When we go we stay at various hotels on Harbor so we can get to and from the park on foot/Wheels. My favorite for locations Is Best Western Park PLace inn and my favorite for when you can get a special of $59 night is Howard Johnson.

Take a look at this map http://www.geocities.com/ashpsyche/DisneylandLinkMap.html
Anything between HOJO and Ramada is definetly a doable walk.

Not sure what the Disneyland express is but maybe it may be something to look into. It does deliver to off site hotels I read somewhere. The problem with shuttles is most cant carry electric wheel chairs

Oh you will find handicap much different in Disneyland too compared to WDW. We generally go into exits on most rides. The few you dont are ok because no steps and wide enough. My husband transfers for all rides but we no longer do the whip type coaters as he cant any more. In WDW it seems we went in normal lines more than exits when we went. Depending on how crowded it is youll find touring to be pretty easy. We find waits to be ok for most rides that we do. Sometimes Pirates line is longer than the regular line but when you cand stand long it is a mute point so we just come back another time when its like that. If you have any questions let me know, We have been to Disneyland about 25 times with power chair and WDW 2 times with power chair.
