Can someone tell me a little about the magical express? Does it work like the buses at the resorts (excluding luggage); do the buses pick up and depart on a set schedule, like every half hour or hour or does it take ressies?

Thanks

ME buses from the airport to resorts do not appear to run on a set schedule, but instead may have their departures dictated by whether they are full, and/or whether there is an empty bus waiting to take its place. When taking the bus back to the airport you will be given a specific time to catch the bus at your resort on the day of your departure.

And YES! You do need to reserve this service. Call 1-407-W-DISNEY (or if you booked your trip through a travel agent, contact that person) to set up your reservation.

Here is a link to the All Ears page that gives you a lot of good information about using ME. http://allearsnet.com/acc/mexpress.htm

Not so. Once the first guest boards a DME bus, the procedure is for the bus to leave no more than 15 minutes later, even if there is only one family on the bus.

Otherwise, the bus dispatching is based on need, and they know the approximate need because they have reservations, so they know about how many people are going to need to go to which resorts at about what times. For example, if there are NO reservations for anyone going to Wilderness Lodge before 3:00 p.m. today, then there won't be any buses scheduled to drop people off there until that time.

Tink is absolutely correct about DME requiring reservations. If you are less than 60 days from your trip, call DME directly at 866-599-0951.

I also strongly encourage you to read at least the first post in each of the DIsney's Magical Express "stickys" at the top of the Transportation forum, as this will give you a good overview.

Please post back, again and again if necessary, if you have any other questions. As you can tell, there are people here who will help you if you need it.:hippie:

Thanks for the clarification. :thumbsup2 I've never seen or heard of a written procedure for buses departing from the airport to resorts.
