Any DVC's used this to get to SSR or any other site?

I have booked the wife and children on it, mainly as they take all teh luggage to your room etc, I can go deal with Dollar and not taking their insurance and then get lost on the way.
I figured the main advantage was at least the luggage part but was wondering if they will have to wait for multiple flights to arrive and then drive around every site before getting to SSR?

Planning to use Virgin check in at DD on the way back

Thanks in anticipation, not long now.

Hi Simon

We used ME last year to get to SSR, it was great, the bus went to Old Key West first, but that was the only drop off before ours, and as you probably know Old Key West is just around the corner from SSR. We found it much quicker than the Virgin transfer which tends to go around the world !! We found it very convenient and have booked it again for this year :thumbsup2

When are you going, will we be neighbours ?

We used it and were very pleased with it :)

and flew in with virgin from manchester .because the flight booking was last minute did not recieve any info before we left .It was no problem we took our own cases to the bus and had no wait and were driven straight to our resort.

Pmcpmc,

I take it you had no problem taking your own luggage with you? We were thinking that this may be an option instead of hiring a car in future, but we would rather arrive at WDW at the same time as our luggage rather than having to wait (upto 4 hours?) for it to arrive.

Just noticed you're posting whilst at BWV - hope you're having a great time, we'll be at BCV in 10 weeks :woohoo:

it was a breeze and we picked upa car at the dolphin 2 weeks later thru holiday autos

We have also used it. Had to take our own luggage to the bus, because we didn't receive the luggage labels you have put on your cases, but it was no problem.

If I was you I would forget picking a hire car up at the airport and go on the coach. We have done this in the past and then arranged to pick a hire car up from the Dolphin or there is a non Disney hotel right by Downtown Disney (can't remember which one), but we have also picked up from there too.

It will save you a few$$ because you won't need the car for as long. You won't need to use Downtown check-in, your cases can be stored by bell hop on the last day until the coach takes you back to the airport. :thumbsup2

Thanks,

Its a free fly drive car from Virgin, do I have to get this at the airport or can I arrange for Dollar (through) Virgin to pick up somewhere else?

We fly Friday and are only staying 2 nights at SSR and then heading off for a cruise so could pick up Sunday morning. Back for a longer stay at SSR after the cruise and Universal. 2 weeks, here we come.... :cool1:

Hope you are having a nice time over there at the moment, I take it that its busy?

Would check with virgin, but they dont participate in ME. so you will not be able to use it if flying with them.Think that you can still use the prgram as you are dealing direct with disney but you have to take your bags to the bus,and they will not load them onto plane. You have to pre book with member servises on ME tickets it will state unkown airline

I would check with Virgin about the free car from my experience the insurance costs they charge for the 'free car' can cost you more than hiring a car independently. If you have booked accomodation through Virgin then they shouldn't be too bothered if you take the car. If it is already booked and paid for I supose you will not be able to change it.

We have just booked a holiday with them and declined the free car, for the cost of the compact car they were offering us we could get a 4x4 with another company.

Going to Disney, Most of the day, if you don't have or don't use the yellow labels, picking up the luggage at the carousel in Orlando is optional. If you use the yellow labels picking up the luggage yourself is not possible.

On selected late evenings everyone may be required to pick up their own luggage but this is counterproductive because buses have to run later to accommodate stragglers.

Going home, all yellow tags and all old destination tags should be removed. Everyone on non-domestic flights must carry their baggage to the ME bus in order to have it for customs.
