Does this mean that if i've opted out of the car hire and requested transfer I'm automatically on the ME? Nothing was mentioned when I booked - they just said transfers were included?

The last time I went, the 'free transfer' was Virgin's own.

Maybe it's changed though I'm interested to know which it is though because I'm flying with them (and have the free transfer) in September.

Ring up Virgin and tell them you need the reservation number to make your adrs then use that number to book dme, its what I did last year.

When we used virgin last time we had transfers and we had virgin transfers to the hotel but they sent Magic express back to the airport.

virgin use mears transport as their transfer which we have used 5 times and always hated it but felt we had paid for it in our holiday last year we had a town car by ****** and it was great it saved us hours of waiting and going to lots of other hotels (pickups and drop offs) and they picked us up where we wanted to be picked up when we wanted to go the transfer always seemed to late hope this helps also it wasent that expensive for the extra time you gain

We used this today we didn't have a hotel room reservation number but it worked fine They sent us an email straight back once we finished putting all our info on the site. We should be sent our ME package approximately 45 days before we fly

Mears and magical express are the same coaches, along with the cruise line coaches, all contracts are leased to Mears, we used the virgin free transfer last year and it was practically the same. Its pot luck whether you get a coach with 'Magical Express' on it. On the return transfer it was a cruise line coach...
We were very impressed with the service and were quite happy to take our luggage with us, i prefered knowing where it was at all times! The driver was very friendly and the transfer was fast. There was hardly anyone on our coach though and we were the only ones going to riverside, we were dropped off first too!
