Magical Express to a different hotel

OP here. Sorry I haven't replied to the questions directed at me in this thread. It's been a wild day! But I just wanted to post an update to my original question if anyone is interested...

The answer is YES! Now I would not by any means say that it is definite that you can always get them to take you to a different hotel. However, if the question is "Is it possible?", well it absolutely is. And here's how I now know...

I was originally scheduled to land in Orlando at 1225pm this afternoon. I had an Ohana ADR at 650pm. So, plenty of time. Or so one would think lol. Through a series of delays/flight cancellations/driving to another airport to fly from there, I was now scheduled to land at MCO at 525pm. And that was if there were no further delays. My sister had flown in from another location earlier in the day so she was already on property. She spoke with our hotel (port Orleans) concierge to see if the adr could be pushed back in the event we didn't make it from the airport in time. No later ADRs were available but what the concierge did do was this (getting back to my original question): she called magical express, explained the situation, and ME changed my ME reservation in the system from port Orleans to the Polynesian. So when we arrived and scanned our bands of magic at ME, the system showed Polynesian and we were put on that bus. We subsequently arrived at ohana about ten minutes before our adr and had a phenomenal dinner.

So to recap...was this something they would do in any situation? Or was this a special exception made by some awesome CMs going above and beyond? I really don't know the answer to that. What I do know is that I was once again blown away by the exceptional service I (once again) received from Disney. I love this place and how I'm always treated here. And that high level of customer service was especially apparent after a day of dealing with decidedly substandard airline customer service.

Sorry for the long windedness!

You got massive pixie dust! Disney's contract with DME specifically doesn't allow them to transport you to another hotel. They broke the rules for you.

Don't they have different lines set up at the airport based on the resorts the buses will be going to? How about if you register at the desk, but then go into a different line than the one to your resort but that will go to the other resort where you have your ADR?
Even better would probably be to find a different mode of transportation, instead of trying to find a way to skirt the rules.

Wow, glad to hear that. Sounds like you had a hard time actually getting to Orlando though :( Did you have a lot of transfers or something to cause all of the delays?

No. But you MIGHT get lucky and have the ME stopping at the hotel where your have your ADR, and if that happens, you could just get off. But that's not something that you can count on, and you have no way of knowing until you actually get on the ME bus.
This is also the only way I know of getting off another resort on the MDE!

UPdate: I just read your last post, and I am happy you were able to switch. Good for you! and Good for Disney!

yup. Given how often this question comes up, if it was something done even semi-regularly, there would be many more posts about it. I would not count on it.
