Magical Express the day after your arriving flight?

I just changed my flight to arrive on a Sat evening instead of mid afternoon on Sun. We are thinking about just getting a hotel near the airport that night (way less $) and then heading to our WDW hotel the next morning. The idea is that we would take the airport hotel shuttle to the one night hotel then take the shuttle back to the airport the next morning and catch the magical express to our resort. Has anyone ever done this? I won't have flight info to give the ME for an arrival that morning so how would that work? We really don't feel like renting a car this time and most Uber and Taxi drivers terrify me. :)

From my experience, all you need to do is provide them with a flight that arrives near to when you want to get a lift to Disney....it wouldn't matter that you're on the flight or not. They just need to know when you are planning on arriving so accommodate the required number of buses for arriving guests.

I would either stay at the hotel in the airport, or book a value resort for the first night. Either of those will save you time and hassle over transferring back and forth to an off site hotel and the airport.

We are arriving Saturday and not taking Magical Express until Sunday morning. We have done both the hotel in the airport and one near the airport and while staying in the airport is much easier, it is also pricier. I just found out our flight was changed and instead of arriving around 9:30pm we will be arriving around 6:45 pm so I'm trying to figure out what we are going to do. The Dolphin is the same price as the airport Hyatt but they said there's no magical express to the Dolphin and I'd have to pay again to get from the dolphin to the Poly. I guess I would have the transportation issue to the Poly if I booked a value too.

No, if you book a value you can use Magical Express that night to the value resort, and have Disney move your luggage to the Poly the next day. Let Magical Express deliver your bags to the value. The next day have Disney move them. It is super easy!

I wasn't aware that Disney would move my bags for me. When I was talking to guest services about all this and what my options were they said to use the park bus. But you can't take your luggge on the park bus according to posts on here.

we do this alot get a later flight and stay at a value one night before heading to our DVC resort for the rest of the trip.Just tell bell services where you are heading and they will transfer them for you. Sometimes takes a while but never been past the 4pm normal check in but we do get out early to hit the park that first full day. We pack an overnight bag for the first night so we dont have to unload the suitcases for that night.

Did this last March. Arrived Marriott Lakeside around noon, room was ready, spent the day by the pool, was very nice and dinner at a nearby restaurant. Shuttled back to airport in early morning and bus was only 10% full, and went to our resort first (YC). Parked the luggage and off to AK. First day was a full day, max out the Disney time!

If looking for a hotel, I recommend the Marriott Lakeside, was easy, is very nice place, and relatively inexpensive.

The disney exclusive agent arranged the ME. Like other said, just give a flight number arriving just before you intend to get on ME.
